Escape life’s hustle and bustle at this romantic and dog-friendly retreat set in rural Cornwall. You, your loved one, and your top dog are all welcome at this pretty property that boasts superb countryside views, direct access to The Saints Way Trail, and close proximity to the area’s dog-friendly beaches.
Set over one floor in a stone-built property, this apartment has neutral decor and is light and bright throughout. Rustle up home-cooked dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, which you can enjoy over a bottle of wine at the two-seater dining table. Let the dog cosy up in front of the warming electric fire while you watch movies on the lounge TV, before getting your head down in the king-size bedroom. Outside, the spectacular scenery will take your breath away, with far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside and woodland making it the perfect spot to dine alfresco. Please note there are chickens kept within the grounds, so your dog will need to be kept on a lead when outside. The property is also accessed via an unmade farm track, which may be uneven and muddy.
Head down the track and join the traffic-free section of Saint’s Way, a Bronze Age trading route which runs coast to coast through North Cornwall and passes some historic spots. The traditional Cornish village of St Issey is 0.5 miles away where there is a pleasant dog-friendly pub, or head 4.5 miles to the popular town of Padstow. Here are several eateries and shops, as well as a working harbour that provides boat trips and access onto the River Camel for boating or kayaking. Alternatively, go barking mad on the beaches at Harlan Bay (7 miles) and Constantine Bay (6 miles).
