Switch off and recharge in this 17th-century cottage in Robin Hood’s Bay. The property sleeps six guests and one hairy sidekick, suiting families and groups of friends. Spend your days hunting for fossils on the paw-friendly beach or blow away the cobwebs on a clifftop hike. You’ll also be within 16 miles of Whitby and Scarborough. In the evenings, dine under the stars in your courtyard garden.
The Grade II-listed cottage has bags of personality, with wood panelling, ornamental fireplaces, and exposed beams, plus the furniture has been carefully chosen to complement the property’s original style. The lounge is a gorgeous place to unwind after a long dog walk, so stretch out on the leather sofas and warm your toes by the gas fire. You’ll have a choice of dining areas: gather in the formal dining room or enjoy casual mealtimes in the kitchen/diner. This is also a great spot for the pups to set up camp, with direct access to the garden. On the first floor, you’ll find a double and a twin bedroom, along with the family bathroom. The final bedroom, which has a handy en-suite shower room, is a king-size located in the eaves on the second floor. Outside, a pretty courtyard garden awaits. The area is fully enclosed – perfect for four-pawed guests – and has a choice of seating areas.
Robin Hood’s Bay oozes olde-worlde charm, with cobbled streets and quaint fishermen’s cottages. The village is extremely welcoming of furry visitors, with many of the cute eateries and cosy pubs welcoming canine diners. The beach is woof friendly all year, and there are some fantastic walks branching away from the village.
