  • Part of an elegant Victorian terrace above Porthminster Beach
  • Ground-floor location and furnished courtyard area

Property code: OC-PC464B

This fetching apartment offers a dog-friendly base for St Ives breaks. Perfectly suited to a couple holidaying with man’s best friend by their side, this property sleeps two guests and one dog. The bright and cheerful apartment offers a top dog location with Porthminster Beach less than half a mile from home. Between September and May, you’re welcome to let your pup off the leash on this golden beach, allowing your beloved bowow the chance to splash in the cold sea and feel the sand beneath their paws before heading home to get warm and dry.

When arriving at the apartment with sandy fur and wet paws, you’ll be pleased to find that the entire ground-floor space is filled with laminate or stone-flagged flooring. Don’t forget to pack a towel or two in your bundle of doggy holiday essentials and give Rover a clean down before stepping inside. The cosy and compact apartment is made up of three rooms, an inviting double bedroom, a shared bathroom and a generously proportioned open-plan living space with a kitchen, lounge and diner. Find an excellent spot in which to place your pup’s bed and prepare for a cosy evening in, switching on the iPod dock to play your pack’s favourite tunes whilst cooking dinner or putting feet (and paws) up for a night in front of the TV.

With Porthminster Beach offering seasonal access for dogs, you’ll no doubt be eager to find a local beach which welcomes dogs all year round. A scenic 1-mile walk along St Ives seafront leads to Bamaluz Beach, a charming cove where pups can bask on the sands throughout the summer. From here you’ll also find an excellent starting point for walks along the South West Coast Path (1 mile), following the clifftop route up to Clodgy Point (1.5 miles) and along the Penwith Heritage Coast.

Our stay at Travose Apartments was comfortable for the two of us for a week, it had everything we needed, the under floor heating was a pleasant surprise. Likes: Smart T.V, wifi, fully equipped kitchen, walk in shower, under floor heating and blackout lure blinds on all windows, a short downhill walk to a golden sandy beach, close to bus and railRead more links. Dislikes: featureless Courtyard which is shared with 2 other Apartments was dark and uninviting, No parking on site which was only discovered on reading the welcome folder, parking only available at nearby car parks. Flat works fine as a base for exploring the area around St Ives, good location near the station & walking distance to town. Bedroom is very small with not a lot of space but small double bed is ok. Sofa is very uncomfortable so not really a space to hang out in. Apple TV requires own subscription to use.

I attach a photo of the disgusting filthy pillows with brown and yellow marks with mould, dirty under mattress area hair and what looks like mould, dirt, very flat and uncomfortable. Duvet old blood stains, dull colour probably lack of washing. We bought new pillows to sleep on. We found bedroom small, very little space either side of bed ( we are not big people). Steep climb up from beach and railway station, used taxi when arriving with cases. Buses stop nearby which is good if travelling without car.

Parking lot is located at the bottom of a step hill and steps. Station parking has limited parking and beware to not park in the resident parking section. Property is more somewhere to lay your head for a short stay not a long-term option. Ensure you stop to the shop for extra toilet paper and basics as there was none. Close to amenities and beach,Read more nice view however if you would like a comfortable holiday, better to spend extra for more comfort. Hide

There is no parking but the train station, whilst not too far away, can be used for 7 days for 25. Good value, but if you drive away for a day, spaces are at a premium to get back in, late afternoon the day-trippers tend to leave. The property is high-up but only a short walk down to the beach, using a narrow, steep road. Cottage is clean and brigRead moreht, but only big enough for 2 adults and a small dog.
