I thought that the property, Redroofs, was a 'Home away from Home' ! The cleanliness of the entire place was immaculate. The furniture was comfortable, cosy, and of a very high standard. I just loved lounging on the hugely wide two cornered sofas. There was also a large/wide 'double' sized chair. There were three bedrooms - one double downstairs, Read morewith access to the bathroom; two bedrooms upstairs (one king size, and the other a twin) both with access to a shower room. These too were of a very high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped, with a large fridge freezer, a microwave, large cooker, a kettle, and a toaster. It also contained a dining area for up to six people. We found the fridge door exceptionally heavy and sometimes difficult to open. The double doors from the kitchen led into a well manicured and enclosed garden. It had a patio area with a table and chairs for six people. The shed contained an extra patio chair and an umbrella for the the table. We found the umbrella difficult to raise and could not use it. The drive was a little steep, but still allowed for two cars to park comfortably. We took one dog and used the provided gate, found under the stairs, to prevent him from accessing the upstairs I found this property to be just absolutely beautiful and just so comfortable. It's location is ideal, with a short, albeit steep 15 minute walk into the town centre of Whitby. This property allowed us to relax and unwind in the comfort of a home. I enjoyed my holiday, in the property of Redroofs, so much, that I have booked said place again for next May! I think that says it all ! Hide

Lovely property in a quiet location, very close to the town centre and beaches, just a short 20 minute walk away without the need to use the car. The property had everything you need, even a bottle of milk provided, toilet paper, washing up liquid etc. Fully equipped. Dogs not allowed upstairs or on the furniture, but that was fine with us as thRead moreere is a downstairs bedroom anyway. Would stay there again if we re visit Whitby. Hide

Nice clean house. Garden completely secure for dogs. Great oven. Easy walk down to Whitby. Uphill on way back but easily doable if relatively fit. In the summer it does get very warm in the house.

Good location for the centre of Whitby and local attractions for the mobile, but there is a steep slope back from the town which was slippery when wet.

The house was very well presented and great for a family with 3 older children. It was lovely and warm and cosy. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The location was great for an October break as we didn't need to take all our gear down to the beach at this time of year. Walking into Whitby was easy, although the waRead morelk back up was a little more challenging. The footpaths down into Whitby are quite steep and slippery if the weather is cold or wet, however we walked everyday and didn't need to use our cars for the whole week. There was enough parking for 2 cars on the drive, 1 large estate and 1 small car, there was some roadside parking too. Hide

If the cottage had not been as good as it was our week in Whitby with older grandchildren would have been ruined. We had one day of sunshine and 6 days of mainly mist wind and rain. I would use it again though

We enjoyed a lovely week in this 3 bedroom cottage. It is well-equipped, nicely furnished and only a 10 minute walk down to the centre of Whitby. The back garden is enclosed and so would be safe for children. We would be happy to recommend this house and may well return ourselves in future.
