Once a traditional fisherman''s cottage, this retreat is built into a cliff and set over three floors. You’ll enter straight into the kitchen and dining room, which has every mod con you need in addition to an antique dining table for sociable meal times. Up two steps, there’s a boot room which is great for storing boots and coats. There''s also a cloakroom on this level with a toilet. Up on the first floor there are two double bedrooms. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and underfloor heating, so the dog may even venture in here. If they don’t go there, you’ll find them up on the second floor in the lounge with a wood burner. For humans, there are two comfortable sofas and a TV for movie nights. From the lounge, there are doors which lead out to the patio with sea views. It has a dog shower with hot and cold water, which is perfect for washing down a sandy or muddy dog. It’s not fully enclosed, however, though it does have outside seating.
The village of Staithes is a wonderful backdrop for a holiday. While it’s on the coast, it’s also set within the enchanting North York Moors National Park. Both are heavenly walking destinations for your dog, while Whitby is 10 miles away and offers another urban location with plenty of pubs and cafes – just like Staithes itself.
