This lovingly-converted old farm building adjacent to the owner’s house in the peaceful hamlet of Stittenham, retains much of its original character. Sleeping four guests over two bedrooms and welcoming two faithful friends, it’s the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to explore the beauty of North Yorkshire with their pups by their side. You’ll enjoy the cottage’s extensive country views, and your canine companions will love snoozing in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire each evening.
Step inside this single-storey cottage and you’ll be greeted by a welcoming lounge/diner with plenty of natural light. Take a little time to make yourself at home before heading to the kitchen to rustle up some dinner for your loved ones. Get everyone together to eat at the dining table, or head outside and dine alfresco at the table on the patio. After dinner, enjoy a glass of wine as the stars come out, or make your way back to the lounge to snuggle with your dogs in front of the electric fire. At the end of the day, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms to choose from, including one that has doors leading out onto a small patio – the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.
Grab the leads and head to the gorgeous Castle Howard (4 miles) for an afternoon. Enjoy a walk around the grounds and then treat yourself to a sweet treat in the outdoor seating area at the cafe. Water bowls are provided for your pups and free bones are available from the Farm Shop, subject to availability. Alternatively, head to Kings Staith in York (14 miles) to take your dogs on a city sightseeing cruise. Pups are welcome free of charge on board the daytime sightseeing cruises and the river bus service.
