Stay in a charming wooden lodge on the edge of a wildlife-rich pond surrounded by mature trees and tranquil views of the surrounding farmland. Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee from the decking before long countryside walks with Fido around nearby nature reserves with picturesque viewpoints, waterfalls, forests and reservoirs. When you return to this property there is a games room on the grounds to enjoy and plenty of outdoor facilities like a tennis court and play area. Or if you want to relax, get stuck into a book on the mezzanine or sink into a bubble bath.

Step inside and walk across the oak flooring in the open-plan living area. There are two sofas in front of the wood burner and TV, next to the French doors which open up onto the decking. Cook a special meal for your guests in the spacious ‘U’-shaped kitchen around the corner before dining at the table and chairs. There is also a bathroom, utility room and a super-king zip-and-link bedroom on this floor. Upstairs is a reading area on the mezzanine and a double bedroom with French doors that lead out to a balcony with a bistro table as well as an en-suite. Outside is a decking with furniture and a BBQ.

During your stay just 1 mile from the sleepy village of Trefeglwys, you’ll be within easy reach of numerous beautiful areas for tranquil dog walks. The closest is Clywedog reservoir (9 miles) and HIDE nature reserve (9 miles). Near here are Ffrwd Fawr Waterfall (8 miles), Glaslyn Nature Reserve (12 miles) and Cadair Viewpoint (11.5 miles). If you’re up for a challenge, Penygader is 27.5 miles away, where you can climb to the top of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia National Park for dramatic lake and valley views.

Perfect location and accommodation for a short getaway. Despite poor weather it had everything we needed. Really enjoyed the games room.

Perfect. The views from Derw Lodge are phenomenal. It's on a working farm so there were views of cows and sheep in fields right next to the lodge. A DVD player is provided though with a list of DVDs available from the hosts. The upstairs mezzanine has its own small living area which was perfect for our teen, they had their own 'flat' but were stillRead more there just above the main living room. There are plenty of walks direct from the farm, our dog came home very tired from all the walking! It's ideally located for any other site seeing that you may want to do. Log burner for those cooler nights as well. Everything was provided and the washer/dryer was invaluable for the weather we had when we stayed. I'd highly recommend it Hide

Cottage was perfect and better than we had imagined. The owner was so lovely and welcoming and was at hand for any issues we had. Will definitely be returning, the perfect location for a break from a busy reality!

The Lodge is in a wonderful location and extremely comfortable. The balcony is perfect for sunny breakfasts listening to the birds, and the deck catches the afternoon and evening sun. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year.

The property was in a perfect location by a pond with walks from the door. Also in a good location for days out, even the drives out had amazing views. The house was of a very high standard. The games room was great for the teenager. Thoroughly enjoyed the break.
