Sitting in a quiet street in Scarborough’s Old Town, this lovely Grade II-listed terraced cottage sleeps four people over two bedrooms and welcomes one canine companion. It’s the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to experience a little historic charm on their break away from it all. You and your pup are sure to enjoy taking long walks along the dog-friendly beach at Cayton Bay, followed by cosy evenings in front of the cottage’s glowing wood burner.
Step inside this lovely Georgian cottage, and you’ll find a welcoming lounge with a beautiful beamed ceiling. Slip onto a sofa and take a moment to make yourself at home before heading down the stairs to the lower ground floor to get busy in the country-style kitchen/diner. Put your culinary skills to work for your loved ones and then share a meal in the dining area. Afterwards, make your way outside to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio, or return to the ground-floor lounge to relax as your pup stretched out in front of the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, you’ll discover a charming twin bedroom with an ornamental fireplace on the first floor, and a king-size bedroom with lovely sea views on the second floor.
There are some seasonal dog restrictions on Scarborough’s beach at certain times of the year, but the glorious Cayton Bay (4 miles) is dog-friendly all year round. Comprising a large sweep of fine sand backed by cliffs, it has a wonderfully wild air about it – and your faithful friend is sure to love it. Alternatively, take your pup for walkies around the grounds at Scarborough Castle (0.5 miles), or for a historic trip on the North Bay Heritage Railway (1 mile), where dogs travel for free.
