Enjoying a quiet location on the southern outskirts of Aldeburgh, this colourful cottage is a wonderful getaway for families and friends looking for a relaxing seaside retreat. An ideal base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring the Suffolk countryside, the cottage offers ample room for six guests, with space for a canine friend to tag along and help you explore the quaint villages and spellbinding coastline of this tranquil county. This spacious Victorian detached house is close to both the high street and the beach, and features an array of comfortable furnishings, a blazing wood burner and picturesque landscaped garden.

Occupying the ground floor, the bright, airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a fantastic space for everyone to get together and unwind. With large windows, a cosy wood burner and plenty of seating, the lounge is ideal for curling up to watch a movie or chat about the day. There’s a lovely dining area with further seating, and a light-filled kitchen, along with a useful ground-floor shower room. Upstairs, you will find the bathroom and three delightful bedrooms: a cheerful children’s bunk bedroom, plus two spacious doubles – one with an en-suite shower room and a charming balcony with gorgeous country views. Outside, the fully enclosed, landscaped garden offers wonderful views and tranquil seclusion. A decked area with outdoor furniture is perfect for a summer BBQ, and there’s a large lawn with ample space for your pets to exercise.

A gate at the bottom of the garden opens onto a footpath leading to the Aldeburgh marshes. The beach is also nearby (dog friendly from October to April), and there are plenty of pet-welcoming places to eat and drink throughout the town. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers miles of breathtaking walks for your pets to lead you along.

A lovely house in a brilliant location. A stones throw from the beach, pub and shops. Very secure garden for our dog. Spacious and nicely decorated living area, and the wood burner was a lovely accessory. Parking potentially an issue at busier times, but we managed to park 3 cars on the road throughout the stay. the house was lovely - we wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to friends/family. only downside was a lumpy/uncomfortable undersheet in master bedroom. otherwise it was perfect for us (family of two adults, two kids, one dog) - house is spacious but cosy, has all the equipment required, clean, dog friendly open plan arrangement, great showeRead morers, fantastic location close (but not too close) to high st and wonderful garden with extensive decking and access to marsh paths at back. would have been good to know in advance of the building work in the empty plot opposite the house (digging foundations for new house) which caused some disruption to parking in street and some noise - but the builders were very friendly, communicative and considerate, so it didn't detract from our week there. the building work may be more disruptive/loud in later stages of construction though. Cleanliness - we had to rewash virtually all the crockery, glasses and cutlery on arrival as the dishwasher filter had blocked and spread broccoli over everything. Facilities- would be good to have the BBQ replaced, and for the downstairs loo flush to work properly. Value for money - the price is reaching the point where it will outweigh value. ARead mores returning customers of many years, it feels disappointing to be exploited by huge price hikes during the pandemic and to find that the inflated prices are being retained. Hide
