  • Contemporary décor and furnishings throughout make this property a delight

Property code: OC-W145

You’ll go barking mad for this period townhouse, bursting with character, charm and cosiness, where your canine companion can practically smell the salt of the nearby coastline with miles of golden sand to explore.

After a long day exploring the local coastline, your four-legged friend won’t be able to resist curling up in front of the cosy gas fire in the spacious living room, the perfect space for you to relax on the leather sofa and catch up with your favourite programme on the TV. Answer the growl of hungry tummies and get creative in the contemporary kitchen/diner, with plenty of space for you to enjoy a family meal around the wooden dining table as Rover digs into his bowl beside you. When it’s time to let sleeping dogs lie, you have three bedrooms across the first and second floors to call your own and dream of the next day’s walkies. Lead the way back downstairs and unleash your pup into the courtyard, where little paws can rest as you catch some stunning sunsets.

The historic yards, cobbled streets and coastline overlooked by the spectacular ruins of a gothic abbey make Whitby a truly unique seaside town that’ll certainly set tails wagging. Let your canine companion lead you through the maze of cafes, restaurants, independent shops and art galleries at the town centre to sniff out the wonderful buzzing harbour beyond, less than half a mile away, to fetch the catch of the day or set sail to explore the coastline from its best watery angle. Your four-pawed pal will go mutts for a peaceful walk at Pannett Park (1 mile), fetching some epic sticks along the woodland and garden walks.

Whilst agreeing with some comments made in many of the earlier reviews, we struggle to award 5 West Terrace anything higher than a 3-star rating, and that is heavily influenced by its excellent location. The property has a serious damp problem around the front door and several other issues due to poor maintenance. The property generally requires uRead morepdating to a higher standard and not as currently, where so many aspects look to have been done to a standard that can only be described as "a that will do" level. These issues have been reported to the owners. Whilst a welcome pack is not obligatory, a minimum of a bottle of milk would have been a nice thought for a first cup of tea. Finally, the Wi-Fi needs an upgrade- 9mbps download speed and 2Mbps upload speed isn't acceptable nowadays. Hide

A comfortable, well equipped house in a very convenient location with easy access to the beach and the shops, whilst being fairly quiet. Having a parking spot behind the house and scratch tickets was a huge plus, given how tricky and expensive it can be to park in Whitby

This is a fantastic house, perfect for a family holiday. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and really comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals and theres a good tv with netflix which kept the teenagers happy. The wifi is pretty decent too. The location is perfect. Its a short walk into town (uphill on the way back as the hoRead moreuse is on the cliff!) and Bothams bakery is literally a couple of minutes walk away. We could get down on the beach very easily, just a short walk. We enjoyed using the beach hut for changing and making post-swim cuppas. We hope to come back! Hide

Excellent property, ideally situated for Whitby town. Our dogs made good use of the walled yard to the rear of the property. We have previously stayed in Whitby and understand the parking issues. With allocated private parking at the rear of the property there were no issues or problems. A very comfortable and well equipped house which we thoroughRead morely enjoyed staying in. We would certainly recommend as a place to stay. In the warmer months a beach hut associated with the property is certainly a big bonus. Hide
