Property code: OC-TREFAE

An appealing stone cottage perched in the lush hills with wonderful views across St Tudwal’s Island and Llanbedrog Headland, this relaxing hideaway is the perfect escape for young families with a couple of tufty-pawed pals in tow. Bound down to the expansive sandy shores of Warren Beach for windswept beachfront zoomies, then flop down in the warm glow of the wood burner for a pre-dinner doze.

This charming property boasts an inviting coastal interior with marine blue and seafoam green tones throughout, weathered wood and stone textures, and plenty of cosy social spaces. Pad along the private driveway and kick off sandy shoes on the porch, then step into the light-flooded kitchen/diner. Perch on one of the wicker chairs and sip a well-earned drink as the resident chef whips up some snacks for their hungry pack. Gather around the wooden table overlooking the leafy garden, then throw another log on the fire and curl up on the sofa with a sweet treat and a worn-out pup snoozing by your feet. Retreat to the sleeping areas, consisting of an airy double and a quirky bunk room, each with glistening sea views. Soak in the salty ocean breeze while you sip your morning coffee on the sunny patio and watch your playful canine snuffling in the landscaped gardens.

Amble down to the pretty seaside village of Abersoch (600 metres) and sniff out the best independent cafes, shops, and eateries. Get tails wagging with a scenic saunter along the coastal path to Llanbedrog Beach (3 miles), lined by pastel beach huts, where your furry friend can dive in for a doggy dip and enjoy ecstatic sandy rolls. Unwind with an al fresco drink at the nearby beach bar where your soggy-pawed companion can bask in the afternoon sun by your side.

Good location and a lovely view are the only positives about this cottage. I did read a few reviews from 2025 saying that the cleanliness of this property was an issue, I assumed any owner/manager would be embarrassed by this and fix this straight away, but I should have trusted the reviews and stayed elsewhere. While the bedding (though old and boRead morebbled) and towels looked clean the same could not be said for the rest of the property. Dirty under bed storage drawers, stained and grubby bed head. Dirty kitchen cupboards, mould on the walls, the list goes on. The cottage is also poorly maintained with a rotten front door the first thing that greets you, broken light fixtures and an open fire with no tools provided to use it safely. Despite the lovely view I couldnt in good conscience recommend this property for the price being charged. Very very disappointing. Hide

Wonderful location and the view. Check in and out times not very guest friendly (9 am check out and 5pm check in), in particular in view of the cleanliness.

Wonderful private location with truly fabulous views. Very convenient for the beach and Abersoch with all its amenities is walkable. But the cottage is fairly basic and is only really suitable for two adults and two small children.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The location was perfect for us: short walk into town and the beach on the doorstep for walks with the dog, and the garden was really peaceful for relaxing and perfect for al fresco dining. We would definitely come back.
