Set in the heart of the colourful seaside resort of Southwold, take some time out to explore this part of the UK in this wonderfully spacious coastal property. Moments from the beach, pier and common, this charming cottage is surrounded by plenty of walking adventures for your family and canine companion.

Enter the pretty red brick cottage to a cosy sitting room which is the hub of the house. Perfect for socialising or putting your feet up, this beautifully furnished room invites relaxation in abundance. For those meals that go long into the night, a well-equipped galley-style kitchen welcomes you to whip up a storm for the family, but look out for famished furry friends! Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where pine beds and crisp white bedding encourage you to enjoy some shut-eye. Next door, a further two bedrooms, a double and one with bunk beds, are great for kids to lay their heads. There’s also a handy WC and shower room for hosing down muddy paws after a day at the beach. Open the stable door in the kitchen to reveal an enclosed, fenced-off courtyard garden where the pooch and kids can wander in and out as they please.

Right in the middle of the action, this property is in a fantastic location just 150 metres to an excellent selection of small shops, a greengrocer, a delicatessen and butchers - great for putting together memorable eats. Grab the dog lead and wander over to the promenade, just 300 metres from the house. If you keep going, a scenic coastal walk to the harbour is a mile away where you can catch the ferry to the village of Walberswick, a delightful area with plenty of space for the dog to run about the dunes.

We spent a lovely week in Ivy Cottage, lovely comfortable accommodation, everything we needed was provided. Very comfortable beds and settees, great TV and Wi Fi. Location is excellent, in easy reach of the town, beach and the common. Weve stayed here several times before and will very likely be back again in the future.

We had an excellent week here, the house is so well equipped for families and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. A great location, perfect for a week in Southwold!

A warm, comfortable and spacious house that fitted us all in. Its a great location handy for the common and The Red Lion. It was nice to have the garden space but you cant let the dog out unaccompanied due to the lay out of the outside space.

This is the second time we have stayed at Ivy Cottage and it is one of my favourites due to its perfect position, comfortable living room, and reasonable pricing. So many cottages in Southwold have gone wild with their prices yet they fail to meet the mark and it shows when they remain unoccupied except at peak season. On both occasions we have staRead moreyed in the colder months and the cottage has always been warm and welcoming. Comfortable beds make a difference as well along with a very thoughtful welcome pack! Hide

We loved the location of Ivy Cottage as it was close to the Common, shops, pubs and the beach. The lounge was large enough for 5 adults and 2 children but unfortunately, the kitchen was not! However, it had everything we needed in terms of equipment. The outside dining space was used every day (the weather allowed for this!) and the shed was realRead morely useful as we were able to store all of our beach things in it. The downstairs bathroom was a good size and there was plenty of hot water. The agents were told of the blocked drain in the shower upstairs. We would certainly use Ivy Cottage again whilst the grandchildren are still young enough to fit the bunk beds! We all had a wonderful family holiday and Southwold didn't disappoint. Of course, the weather helped, but even if the weather is bad, there is so much to do that you could never get bored. Hide

Excellent location, very close to beach and town. Comfortable beds and sofa and nice outside space with large table and chairs.
