This romantic retreat for two is surrounded by the breathtaking Strathearn countryside, just 2 miles from the historic spa town of Crieff. Here, you’ll find a great range of independent shops and eateries, along with elegant Victorian architecture and landscaped public parks – perfect for a picnic on a summer’s afternoon. As expected, the surrounding area – on the edge of the Highlands - is a paradise for walkers, including the Munros of Ben Vorlich and Ben Chonzie, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views. There’s also a lovely, waterside route around Loch Monzievaird, which can be reached on foot from the cottage. For keen golfers, there are numerous courses within a 15-mile radius of the property, including the world-famous Gleneagles (12 miles). Glenturret Distillery – Scotland’s oldest distillery – is 2 miles away, where you can take a tour or sample a wee dram of their famous malt whiskey.

The converted water mill is attached to the owner’s property, and the accommodation is arranged across the ground floor. There is also a sofa bed here, but please note the cottage has a maximum occupancy of two guests. Completing this space is a sleek kitchen area with a breakfast bar, and a cute dining table for sharing mealtimes together. Just off the kitchen is a welcoming king-size bedroom with plenty of storage and a contemporary en-suite wet room. Completing the accommodation is a separate shower room.

To the front of the cottage is a gravel courtyard and patio area where you can enjoy a sundowner at the end of a busy day. Guests are also welcome to explore the owner’s garden, which is reached via a flight of steps at the rear of the cottage. Private parking is available for two cars.

The beautifully situated Lochelour Mill Cottage has been tastefully renovated and furnished. We felt completely at home and thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and tranquillity. My husband and I frequently stay at this property and it really has become a home from home. The gated courtyard at the front of property is ideal for having a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening. There is also a large grassed area behind the property that can be used should you wish. Deer, red squirrels and a wide variety of wildlife can be seen there if you're lucky! Hide

Lovely cottage. A home from home which has become a regular "go to" when my husband and I stay in Crieff. Very comfortable, quiet location with a 5 minute drive to Crieff Town. Plenty of country walks nearby and Loch Monzievaird is a beautiful walk and is only a 2 minute drive away. The owner or his son usually check in with us that we are OK with Read moreeverything and always make us very welcome. Hide

A lovely well resourced cottage situated in an ideal place for exploring the area. A little to near a busy road for our young dog but with a secure courtyard it is good for dogs.

A superb base for a visit to this area. We would have stayed longer had it been available. Very well furnished for two and a nice space to spend time in. The only wee negative we can think of is that the hot water took a bit long to come through in the shower!

We loved staying at Lochelour Mill Cottage. We rented it for seven days while we were 'house hunting' in the area. The cottage is so comfortable and our Black Labrador loved the underfloor heating! The kitchen was well equipped. Both showers were a delight to use. We will highly recommend Lochelour Mill Cottage to friends and family.
