One or two couples, plus up to two furry friends, can escape to this lovely Cornish cottage in the tranquil hamlet of Trevelmond. Beautifully presented, it’s a really relaxing bolthole from which to explore more inland areas of Cornwall, or the south coast in all its variety and splendour.
This cute cottage offers comfortable accommodation on ground level; maintaining the essence of a Cornish cottage, it’s been refurbished to a high standard with lots of wood, light and airy decor, with natural finishes plus all modern conveniences to offer deluxe accommodation for up to four humans and two dogs. Entering up three steps to the cottage’s level, the lounge is a very relaxing and calm space, just right for chilling or planning the next day’s adventure. Snuggle by the wood burner, if the weather’s chilly. Outside, there’s a furnished patio, but do note it’s not fully enclosed so less biddable canine chums will need close monitoring. Parking is on a first-come-first-served basis in the village.
If the sea calls, then head to the southern Cornish coastline, with pretty Looe 8.5 miles away with its eateries, pub, shops, foodie treats and arty and gift boutiques. Its beaches include East Looe Beach, Second Beach and Hannafore Beach. Or head to other coastal hotspots, including Downderry, Talland Bay, Lansallos Beach and Polperro which are all within 14.5 miles. The South West Coast Path connects most of these and is a great opportunity for blustery walks, but keep dogs on leads as it’s very steep and narrow in sections. For more walking and blustery adventure, Bodmin Moor is 5.5 miles and is a good call for keen hikers and cyclists.
