This is the ulti-mutt retreat for couples or small families bringing canine companions who love to wander far and wide in glorious countryside. The bespoke, bijou cabin is a peaceful hideaway with rural views, set in a 400-acre estate of valleys, fields, hedgerows, tracks, woodland and lakes that you’re welcome to explore.

The timber-clad cabin has a delightfully cute and remote feel, but don’t worry – it still has electricity and Wi-Fi. Take the two steps onto the deck at the front, and lead your pups inside, to find a home-from-home space which boasts a comfortable sofa and a Smart TV. Large windows frame the lovely views, and the mix of lighting, soft furnishings and art create a truly welcoming ambience. The kitchen is equipped for whipping up light meals and snacks. An adjoining double bedroom boasts French doors to the patio, and is another bright, colourful and welcoming space. Next to the cabin, across the deck and down three steps, you’ll find the pretty shower room, with a hot shower and flushing WC. Enjoy the fresh air by opening up all the doors of the cabin, or step out onto the covered deck, an outdoor living space with wicker chairs gathered around a coffee table. A BBQ and a fire pit are provided for grilling delicious local produce or perhaps a few marshmallows, which you can enjoy perched on the log stools in true glamping manner. Throw balls for your four-pawed pals to chase in the large field (not enclosed), and bring them with you to explore the wider estate. Off-road parking is provided for two cars.

Stretch furry legs with walks on Exmoor’s dramatic landscapes (13 miles) or head to the coast at Saunton Sands (9.5 miles), where much of this glorious stretch of beach is dog-friendly all year round.

I recently stayed in Sunset Cabin at Hollamoor Farm with my 4-year-old daughter and it was one of the most memorable family holidays we've had. The absolute highlight was Jumbo the pony. My daughter was encouraged to take part in his daily care, helping to groom, feeding and look after him before enjoying daily rides. Seeing her confidence grow Read moreeach day and the special bond she developed with Jumbo was truly heart warming. She hasn't stopped talking about him since we got home! The farm itself is set within 400 acres of beautiful countryside with opportunities to explore on foot. We loved wandering through the fields with stunning views and stumbling on fields of Sunflowers. We stayed in Sunset Cabin, a self-catering unit which was clean, very comfortable, well-equipped and perfect for the both of us. The name couldn't be more fitting as we were treated to some spectacular sunsets while sitting outside in the evening. The location is fantastic, offering countryside tranquillity while still being within easy reach of some of the wonderful beaches North Devon offers. If you're looking for a family holiday that combines hands-on experiences with horses, beautiful countryside, stunning sunsets and easy access to the coast, we couldn't recommend Hollamoor Farm highly enough. Caroline and George, the hosts were welcoming, very friendly and clearly passionate about creating a special experience for their guests, we cant thank you enough for the wonderful holiday we had and are already looking forward to returning and of course, seeing Jumbo again! We loved our time at the sunset cabin! The cabin itself is a lovely size and had everything we needed and more. Its also well named as the sunsets are beautiful here. Its in a great location, so peaceful and yet just a short drive to great beaches / shops etc. so you have the best of both worlds! Our host was very kind and left a homemade cakRead moree upon arrival and made sure to check in during our stay. We took our two dogs with us who were afforded the freedom to run in the fields and explore which we really appreciated although note that this is a working farm and the field isnt secure so you will need to keep an eye on them. It was a lovely experience staying at the cabin. Extremely peaceful with a lovely unhindered view to the land and nature. The place was very clean and well equipped for light food preparation. The owner and people at the farm were extremely friendly, worth mentioning that we were greeted with a freshly baked cake which we appreciated very much. RegRead morearding the surrounding area you will definitely need a car to visit the lovely North Devon and navigate the local amenities. We loved our stay at quirky Sunset Cabin and our dog enjoyed the freedom he had to roam the estate with us. Caroline, the owner, was a good host. She even left a home-made Devon cream cake to welcome us. This place is small but perfectly formed with a lovely outdoor area to watch the sunset or have a barbecue. Don't expect all the kitchen gadgets oRead morer a large TV - you won't need them! Also don't be put off by the outside bathroom. The shower is good and it's perfectly warm and well kitted out. Caroline left us a list of recommended places to visit and to eat. We particularly liked Instow and Appledore and our favourite garden to visit was Marwood Hill. Hide
