With sunsets over Howells Mere and a private hot tub, this contemporary lakeside lodge sleeps eight and welcomes two dogs, making it a natural fit for families or groups of friends travelling with dogs in tow. A 550-acre estate surrounds it, while the glass-roofed living space upstairs frames the water from almost every seat. The wood burner adds another reason to settle in after time outdoors.
The first floor opens into an A-frame, glass-roofed lounge/kitchen/diner, where floor-to-ceiling windows and doors face the lake. Deep sofas gather around the wood burner and Smart TV, with a galley kitchen along one side and a dining table seating eight. On the second floor, a double bedroom is open-plan, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the mere, while the dressing area provides extra space. The bedroom includes a mezzanine above the open-plan living area. The three remaining bedrooms lie off the ground-floor hallway. One is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room (shower and WC) and sliding glass doors onto an over-water decked area; the others are a double and a twin. The bathroom on this level has a bath and separate shower, plus a WC. That lakeside deck is one of two, the second opening off the living space; both have outdoor dining furniture, and the hot tub is private to the lodge. Two dogs are welcome. Parking for one car is directly outside, with further spaces in the main car park. Facilities shared with other guests on the estate include indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Guests can also use the fitness room, tennis courts, sauna, spa, soft-play area, shop, and pub, along with water sports and fishing on the lakes.
