Originally built in the 17th century, this lovingly updated character cottage is perfectly positioned for hikers, walkers and nature lovers eager to discover a spellbinding part of the Derbyshire countryside. The quaint village of Baslow has a choice of shops and eateries, and offers a wealth of breathtaking trails, with Stanage Edge, Curbar Edge and Baslow Edge all within 9 miles. From the cottage, a picturesque footpath leads to the magnificent Chatsworth Estate less than a mile away, with Chatsworth House itself surrounded by stunning grounds (1.5 miles). The historic market to of Bakewell (4.5 miles) is the home of the Bakewell Pudding, or you can head a little further west to the spa town of Buxton (16 miles) with attractions including Buxton Opera House and Poole’s Cavern. Other local landmarks include Haddon Hall, the Eyam Museum and Magpie Mine, all within 8 miles.

Stepping inside this characterful semi-detached cottage, part of it under the thatch, the welcoming hallway has space for leaving coats and boots after a fantastic day exploring the Peak District. The hall leads through to a snug, colourful lounge in the thatched part of the cottage, with a Smart TV and plush seating, perfect for a quiet night in. Heading through, the delightful dining room has a handsome central dining table alongside a wood burner, timber beams and exposed brickwork, with French doors leading out to the garden. To the rear, the thoughtfully arranged kitchen is perfect for preparing all your favourite family dishes. The ground floor is rounded off with a convenient WC. Heading upstairs, the first floor features both a refreshing bathroom and a stylish shower room alongside a choice of three beautiful bedrooms. The first bedroom is also set beneath the cottage’s thatch and offers a cosy king-size bed as well as wooden beams and an exposed stone wall; the second bedroom is a charming double and the third is a lovely triple room with a single bunk set above a double bed. Please note the rooms on the first floor have some low sloping ceilings.
