Unleash your sense of adventure with a tail-wagging stay at this characterful country escape. Sleeping four guests and two canine companions, it’s perfectly placed for scenic walks, cycling routes and water sports, and comes complete with a wood burner as well as an enclosed garden with a hot tub.
Full of rustic charm, the cottage features a careful blend of original features with modern amenities. The open-plan living space centres around a wood burner, with comfortable seating creating a cosy place to enjoy a film on the Smart TV with your pups curled up by your feet. The kitchen provides everything necessary to prepare holiday meals – including a microwave and a dishwasher – which can be savoured around the dining table, or outside on warmer days. When night falls, say goodnight to your furry friends and head to the two charming bedrooms, both equipped with TVs, and which share a sleek bathroom featuring a bath, separate shower and WC. Patio doors open onto an enclosed garden with a lawn and furnished patio, ideal for al fresco drinks or meals while your four-pawed pals play. An elevated deck is home to comfortable seating and a hot tub, where you can enjoy long soaks as you admire the countryside views. As an added bonus, private parking for two cars is provided.
The cottage is on the edge of the North Pennines National Landscape, perfect for long walks straight from your door, including the 0.5-mile stroll to Castle Carrock Reservoir and access to the steep walk up Carrock Fell. Afterwards, relax at the dog-friendly village pub (1.5 miles). Wander by the water and in the woodland at Talkin Tarn Country Park (2 miles) or head to Carlisle (11 miles) for shops, museums and the 900-year-old cathedral, where dogs are allowed on a short lead.
