For coast and countryside adventures with your canine pal, stay at this charming cottage in the peaceful Devon village of Kingston. It sleeps up to two, making it ideal for a dog-friendly solo or romantic break. You’ll be just 2 miles from the nearest village, St Ann’s Chapel, and 4 from the market town of Modbury. What’s more, your closest beach (Wonwell Beach, 1.5 miles) welcomes doggies all year round.
After parking on the roadside, follow a secluded path to the front door, which takes you straight into an open-plan living area comprising lounge, kitchen and diner. Exposed beams create a cosy feel, and a sofa and armchair invite you to relax beside the wood burner while your pup snoozes in the warmth. There’s a Smart TV for laid-back evenings and a dining suite beside the cottage-style kitchen. Upstairs, the double bedroom overlooks the front garden, and there’s a separate dressing room with views across fields behind the property. Completing the accommodation is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. On sunny days, it’s a treat to dine in the pretty cottage garden with your pet by your side. A separate lawned garden with seating can be found at the rear. Street parking is available, subject to availability.
Wonwell Beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing and also gives access to the South West Coast Path, so you can plan dog walks that go on for miles and miles. Ayrmer Cove (3 miles, also dog-friendly all year round) has a secluded sandy beach and rock pools. From here, you can follow a scenic 3-mile circular route through Ringmore Valley and along historic lanes once used by smugglers. Kingsbridge (10 miles) has shops and plenty of places to eat.
