Lap up the comfort offered by this lovely Lake District lodge when you and your delighted dog stay near Cockermouth. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom hideaway sits on a well-maintained site, 1.5 miles from the vibrant heart of the Georgian market town, where the facilities include a dog walking area. Spend your days wandering picturesque footpaths through the fells and your evenings unwinding together on the enclosed deck.
Follow your waggy-tailed chum up three steps onto the deck. Let yourselves in to discover modern, light-filled accommodation where pups and people will feel immediately at home. Settle in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with the doors open on sunny days. Watch the Smart TV from the generous L-shaped sofa, while your contented canine stretches out on the carpet. Feed him in the kitchen, where you will find all the equipment you need to help you prepare home-cooked meals. Dine inside or out while your four-pawed pal dozes off his own feast. As the sun sets over Cumbria, amble through to either the twin bedroom or the king-size, which has an en-suite shower room. There is also a family shower room within the lodge. Take your chum off to run in the dog exercise area, then return to soak up the sunshine and the scenery together on the deck. There is private parking here for two cars.
Find a range of exceptional dog walking routes at Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles away. Venture 13.5 miles to Keswick, where you and your lively chum can undertake the entire 10-mile circuit around Derwentwater if you wish. Book a pet-friendly cruise out onto the magnificent lake from here too, to take in the scenery with a little less energy.
