Watch Fido’s tail wag with joy when he embarks upon yet another wonderful walk through the Yorkshire Dales. This cosy cottage nestles in the charming village of Reeth and makes a great base for those who love to roam. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat has a gravelled courtyard for sunny days and wood burners for warming paws on winter evenings.
Follow Fido in through the front door of the stone cottage and head into the lounge, where you can sink back into the deep leather sofas while he rests his weary head on the soft rug. Stoke up the wood burner to bring a soft glow to the space, then surf the channels of the Smart TV to stream your favourite show. Amble through to the dining room to set the table for the next delicious Yorkshire feast, then call Fido through to the kitchen for his own dish of dinner. Light a second wood burner here on chilly days. There is also a useful utility room for rinsing dog towels during your stay. Tuck Fido up for the night downstairs before heading up to the first floor for your own restful sleep. Here you have a lovely twin bedroom and two doubles to choose from. The family bathroom, where you can wallow in the freestanding tub or enjoy an invigorating shower, is also here. Take Fido out into the garden on fine mornings. Let him nose about while you enjoy your coffee. Parking is on the street, subject to availability.
Pick up the dog lead and accompany your chum on hikes through Swaledale. Make a trip to Aysgarth Falls, 10 miles away, to follow leafy footpaths. Venture into Richmond, also 10 miles away, to wander the historic streets and amble 1 mile beside the river to Easby Abbey.
