The serenity is unparalleled in this sun soaked seaside cottage for six guests on the edge of the Norfolk coastline. Set in the village of Bacton, you’re just 300 metres from a pristine, wide stretch of sand linking Mundesley (3.5 miles) and Walcott (1 mile), where grey seals are often spotted offshore. The village offers a handy shop, café and takeaways for easy days by the sea. Less than 5 miles away, Bacton Woods provides 113 hectares of peaceful woodland, perfect for walking, biking and nature spotting among its winding trails. After exploring the coast, head south to the Norfolk Broads, with access points at Stalham (6 miles) and Waxham (9 miles), where you can discover the vast network of lakes and rivers that define this unique national park.

This delightful cottage has a real lived-in atmosphere, creating a homely space for every guest to call their own. Venture inside and stop off in the kitchen/diner, a well-equipped space prepared for mealtimes and sitting down together. From here, move into the lounge, with comfortable sofas arranged around a striking open fire and a Smart TV – the perfect backdrop for chilled-out evenings. Uniquely, the ground-floor bathroom also boasts an ornate ornamental open fire, a charming nod to the property’s 200-year-old origins. Sink into the tub while admiring its beauty. Completing the ground floor, discover the first of four bedrooms. Accessible via the kitchen, this double bedroom is bright and pleasantly designed, offering a TV, glazed door that leads onto the garden, and an en-suite shower room. Moving up to the first floor, the three remaining bedrooms are styled to a similar effect. There’s another double and two singles, each with pretty decor and lovely views. Completing this floor is a handy WC.

Enclosed gardens can be found at both the front and back of the property, allowing you to chase the sun around the house throughout the day. At the rear, discover a large grassy lawn, outdoor furniture, and views of the field beyond. Private parking is also provided for up to three cars.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived at the cottage. We had received a welcoming text not long before our arrival, that made everything very clear. Our dogs were as well catered for as we were - they were welcome, not simply tolerated. The enclosed, grassed area at the back was perfect for our peace of mind. The layout of the rooms (with oRead morene bedroom and en-suite downstairs), means this cottage is very flexible for all sorts of different family groups. This was our base for walks in Norfolk, and proved to be perfect in every respect. Hide
