Immersed in the luscious Leven Valley, next to the river, this pretty spot is well situated for sniffing out adventures through the Lake District. Head off on foot and paw from the doorstep and climb Bigland Barrow (1 miles) for scenic views or take a ride on Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway (500 metres) which winds up to Lake Windermere (3 miles). Disembark and enjoy gentle meanders along the water’s edge.
