Play fetch on dog-friendly beaches near Brixham when you bring your pet along for a stay at this lovely retreat. Sleeping four guests, this two-bedroom cottage is ideal for a small family or couples eager to include their four-legged friend in their holiday fun. The delightful property, which was once home to a fisherman, comes with a private seating area and shared lawn where you and your chum can savour the sea air.

Let yourselves into this three-storey Devon hideaway and leave walking boots and dog leads in the porch as you pass. The sunny lounge is a great space for hounds and humans alike. Here, you can read your books, watch the Smart TV or play games while your pal rests his weary paws on the rug. When everyone is hungry, wander through to the kitchen/diner to fill up your pet's food and water bowls and prepare something tasty for everyone else to enjoy at the table. Pat your pup goodnight before bed every night then climb the steep, cottage-style staircase up to the first floor, where a family bedroom with a double and a child's single, is located, along with the family bathroom. Follow steep, winding stairs up to the top floor to discover a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Wake up to views across Brixham from up here. Head downstairs to greet your happy hound and take him out into the fresh air to run around on the shared lawn. Sit out in your private seating area to enjoy your first cup of tea of the day.

Grab the dog lead and wander 0.5 miles from the town to Fishcombe Cove, which is dog friendly all year round. St Mary's Bay, 1.5 miles away, is also a great choice for family days out to the beach.

Lovely house. Beds very comfortable. Rooms light in the morning, could do with better window coverings. Expected noise from seagulls/church bells but got used to both quickly. Great for access to Brixham - be prepared for very steep hills. Steps to access house are steep/uneven in places. We often managed to park in roads behind the house - roads aRead morere narrow and steep. Parking easy in the suggested Oxen carpark (seemed busy in the day but fine for getting in after a day out). Great short break Hide

Nice little cottage, in a great location for exploring Brixham, just a short walk to the bus stop and local amenities. Please note there are a number of steep step to climb up to the cottage and inside the cottage. The location is very close to the church and the bells chime every 15 minutes. We had a lovely stay, cottage is fab-a typical fisherman style cottage. Lots of steps to get to the property, not suitable if you cannot walk up many flights. Friendly neighbours, lovely little communal garden too. Cottage right next to the church, which chimes 24/7 , cute though and you get used to it. We would return and we loved our stay. PlentyRead more to see and do around the local area. And a fantastic local Pub only down the road, which we used most evenings, had fun playing their boxed games! Hide
