Find somewhere comfy to rest your feet (or paws) in this delightful castle, where the dining room, lounge and games room greet you on the ground floor and seven impressive bedrooms await upstairs. Both the dining room and lounge feature open fires that invite you to curl up with your pup at your feet, planning for days ahead and nursing a wee dram. The lounge is also equipped with a smart TV for lazy nights lounging on the sofa, whilst the games room features a pool table, chess and poker for more competitive evenings in. Be sure to throw open French doors when blessed with bright and sunny weather, dining alfresco whilst Rover and the gang enjoy free roam of the outdoor space.

Flock to nearby Campbeltown (3 miles) as a base for exploring the glorious Kintyre peninsula with its stunning sea views, or head to the wide sandy expanse of Machrihanish Beach (6 miles) where your dogs can chase a tennis ball, splash in the sea and feel the sand beneath their paws.

Kilchrist is a great house for a large group with dogs wanting to enjoy the spectacular Kintyre peninsula. The lounge is spacious with lots of seating. We were only a very small group so didn't need to use the dining room. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large utility room, ideal for feeding our three dogs! We have just returned from a long weekend at the castle which was lovely. Cold frosty weather made the grounds look beautiful and the house was warm and comfortable. My family enjoyed the experience.

We loved staying at the castle it felt like home Jamie the caretaker was very helpful when the dishwasher broke replaced it the next day very relaxing holiday would love to stay again the Kintyre was beautiful

Hi, thank you for a lovely stay in a place so full of character. We really enjoyed the quirkiness of the castle, and how comfortably it is fitted out. We did request the travel cot, and that was not there when we arrived. We phoned, and Jamie came back and supplied it. However, he left us to erect it, and when we tried to do so we discovered that iRead moret was broken: the hinges would not open properly, and one of them would not stay in the open position. Overall the castle is a great place to stay and we enjoyed our week there. We appreciated that the entrance hall, main lounge and dining room were dressed for Christmas.

The location is fantastic and the scenery we passed to get there was stunning. We had a lovely family vacation, everyone really enjoyed it. The second dining table in the dining room was great for playing games! And the garden was perfect for the dog. We had fantastic trips to Gigha with its white sandy beaches, and the beach at Machrihanish where Read moreour son enjoyed a couple of rounds of golf. The Old Course Pub was a great place for a meal, but book in advance! Hide

Beautiful,stunning, magnificent,loads of space,rooms and the gardens are just magical I just wish we had a stair gate to block the dogs from going up to the bedrooms. Took some time when trying to find kitchen ware as there is so many cupboards had a fantastic week
