This home-from-home retreat is welcoming and comfortable, and just 500 metres from a scenic woodland walk your mutt will adore. Ideal for small groups or families, it boasts a beautiful outdoor space, safely enclosed for your pet to explore and with a hot tub for bubbling relaxation.

Let your pup lead you into the bright and spacious L-shaped living space. At one end, the lounge has a wood burner – perfect for snuggling up in cooler weather – which leads through to the dining table overlooking the garden and then, around the corner, to the bright kitchen, equipped with an air fryer and a coffee machine. The utility room has laundry facilities and is also the ideal place to stash Fido’s food. At bedtime, say goodnight to your four-pawed friend and take the stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find three bedrooms: a king-size, a single, and a twin. There’s also a sleek shower room in which there’s one step up into a spacious rainfall shower. After a day of adventures, indulge in a soak in your very own hot tub, set on the artificial grass alongside comfortable outdoor furniture. Two steps down, you’ll find a patio with a built-in BBQ, a gazebo with dining furniture and a delightful summerhouse where you can spend the evenings relaxing and swapping stories.

The lodge is located in the small town of Grantown-on-Spey, on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, where your hound can go barking mad exploring the high- and low-level walking routes through spectacular scenery as you watch out for ospreys and golden eagles above. Closer to home, there are endless walks in and around the town, which is filled with elegant historic architecture and an array of independent shops.

We had a great family long weekend stay at Strathspey lodge, the house was clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a wood burner for chilly evenings plus the hot tub to relax in after days exploring the area. Elizabeth was the perfect host.

Would I book again? Yes. Clean, comfortable & homely. Breakfast outdoors, cosey living room evenings and very quiet bedrooms & comfy beds at night. Kitchen has all you need and the owner was very responsive when needed. Wooded walks are minutes away (our dog had a great time). We didn't use the hot tub but it looked very inviting.
