This gorgeous cottage has heaps of historic character combined with luxurious modern comforts. It boasts a wood burner for relaxing evenings in and a games room for entertainment, and best of all is its fabulous garden where there’s plenty of space for pups to play. Perfect for families bringing up to three happy hounds, it’s close to Lake Windermere and a variety of lovely walks.
Lead your furry friends straight into the utility/boot room, where you’ll find hooks for leads and coats, laundry facilities and space to store food, beds and bowls. From here you can access the bike store and the games room with its snooker table, puzzles and board games. Cooks will appreciate the bright and beautiful kitchen/diner, with everything you’ll need for holiday cooking, including a slow cooker. After supper, bring your mutts through to the lounge and snuggle them on the rug as you enjoy the warmth of the wood burner and some conversation, a book, or a film on the Smart TV. Say goodnight to your four-pawed pals and head up the stone stairs to the bedrooms, which include a super-king-size, which can be converted to a twin on request, with an en-suite shower room. The king-size and twin bedrooms share a family bathroom with a roll-top bath. For canine exercise head out to the landscaped grounds, on a variety of levels, including an unfenced pond and a little stream, all enjoying glorious rural views. You’ll have parking for three cars.
From the cottage it’s just 6 miles to the landing point for cruises around Lake Windermere (canines welcome), the National Trust’s Fell Foot and its dog-friendly Boathouse Cafe, and the start of scenic walks along the River Leven. The Edwardian seaside retreat of Grange-over-Sands is also just 6 miles, its long promenade offering a lovely spot for an afternoon stroll.
