Situated in the peaceful village of Dalavich just yards from the water’s edge of Loch Awe, this former schoolhouse is a fabulous family-friendly abode. Offering sleeping space for up to eight guests and three hounds, you’ll soon be scampering across the rugged landscape, looking out for the varied wildlife as you go. At night, your private hot tub awaits, so pour yourself a wee dram and get ready to relax as your faithful friend has a snooze alongside on the patio.

Vaulted ceilings and period features entwine with contemporary style to create a fabulous space for socialising and relaxing, whether you are perched at the central island with your glass of wine or cooking up a storm to feast around the table. There’s a handy utility room for wiping down muddy paws after a play in the garden, and no pup can resist long naps in front of the roaring wood burner, leaving you to choose a film and sink into the sofas. On balmy evenings, head outside to enjoy a BBQ supper followed by toasted marshmallows on the fire pit. Weary and ready to rest all four limbs, there are four bedrooms to choose from, two on the ground floor sharing a shower room, and two upstairs sharing a bathroom.

Walking and cycling are popular activities with routes direct from your doorstep, but Loch Awe is also renowned for its fishing opportunities. Arrange a fishing permit for a new perspective, marvelling at the stunning views across the horizon with your pup by your side. The friendly village shop and cafe is a pleasant place to grab something delicious to refuel, and seasonal mountain bike hire is also available.

As a family we are used to living in a very rural area. This may not be for everyone but for us it was fabulous

Wonderful property in an idyllic location. Peaceful walks on the doorstep into unspoilt countryside and woodland. Short walk to Loch Awe which was lovely to swim in - in August! Lots of wildlife around to enjoy from the fully enclosed dog safe garden. A very well equipped and comfy place to stay

Fantastic location and a beautiful, well appointed, clean and comfortable home from home. The walks right from the front door were excellent and easy to follow. The run to Oban was spectacular, particularly as we had snow! I would have no hesitation in recommending this property which was even better than described.

Beautiful cottage, big enclosed gardens if you have dogs. Beds comfy, plenty of space, hot tub is great. We went in October and was hardly anyone about. Peaceful and tranquil. Great access to near by walks / lochs / castles. Village shop is great for supplies and they do a great breakfast. A great overall base for exploring a week of cycling / kayaRead moreking/ walking . Lovely cottage so big and spacious. If in a big group this is perfect. Brought 2 dogs and they loved the large enclosed garden 2 run about in. Hot tub was perfect and was used everyday. Tesco also do a food delivery to here which is very handy when staying for a week.
