Property code: OC-CN116

Less than 0.5 miles from water, this delightful cottage could not be more perfectly placed for a family coastal escape. Soak up the incredible sea view from the doorstep before ambling down to the bustling harbour and beach, where your hounds will go mutts for the long stretch of golden sands. The property sleeps four across two comfortable bedrooms and offers a cosy place to unwind after a day of exploring.

Once you’ve torn yourself away from the view, step into the welcoming cottage which will feel like a home-from-home. Kick off your shoes, wipe off muddy paws, and sink into the inviting sofas in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner for a quiet family night in. On cold evenings, fire up the wood burner and snuggle up with your loved ones, hounds included. The small but well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook your favourite meal — although you’re sure to be tempted by the dog-friendly local pub across the road. Exhausted from the day’s adventures, head upstairs to the two double bedrooms for a well-deserved slumber.

If you’re looking for adventure, a visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (19 miles) comes highly recommended. Accessible via a causeway at low tide, the island is home to a historic castle and priory as well as a beautiful crescent-shaped beach. Speaking of beaches, here you are spoilt for choice; as well as the one on your doorstep, there are ample nearby to explore. Your hounds will go mutts for the golden sands at Annstead (1 mile), Beadnell Bay (3 miles), Embleton Bay (8.5 miles), Bamburgh Castle (3.5 miles), and Ross Back Sands (9.5 miles).

The cottage was perfectly situated very close to the harbour and all other amenities in Seahouses. It felt very welcoming clean and tidy on arrival. The owner was very helpful and responsive when had a query. The welcome gifts were a nice touch.

Stayed for a week - Lovely little cottage in a central location in Seahouses. No parking outside the property (although it doesn't stop people using the pub across the road from doing so which was a pain) but the parking permit is useful, it's a 4 min walk to the nearest car park (can use all over Northumberland). Excellent setting opposite the excellent Black Swan (not cheap though), 2 mins from shops (the great independent store) and other amenities on offer in Seahouses. The cottage was ideal for the 2 of us and, when things went wrong as sometimes these things do (hey ho!), they were fixed promptly; well looked after in other words. Lovely cottage in a good location. Its a shame me theres no parking by the property however we didnt find this much of a problem. You can load and unload without any issues and the parking permit meant we didnt have to pay for parking. We love Seahouses and would definitely go back and stay in this cottge.

Really lovely welcome gifts were left, especially the homemade marmalade. We had issues finding the carpark (which is at the Ocean View) but when contacted the owners they couldn't have been any more helpful and also gave some tips on places to eat. All in all a great little house, would stay here again. Hide

We have just returned from Kipper Cottage in Seahouses. A very comfortable, cosy cottage seconds from the harbour. The cottage is very well equipped: washing machine was invaluable with our 5 month old, clothes horse , dishwasher, cute crockery and glassware ample for 4 adults. We didn't cook at home but there was a well equipped kitchen. Comfy bedRead mores, choice of pillows, efficient central heating and hot water, log burner. Pub opposite with live weekend music - noisy but over by 11pm. Very happy! Hide

A cosy and comfortable cottage in a fabulous location, and although it is directly opposite the pub it really doesn't cause any noise issues even on the busier nights. The welcome pack for myself and my pooch was a nice touch and appreciated. My only gripes are the lack of a cafetiere in the kitchen and some basics such as handwash, foil etc. The uRead morepstairs is a bit tired especially the bathroom and the beds need new pillows as mine were flat and mismatched.
