An elegant, converted mill perfectly placed for scenic adventures in the eastern region of the Lake District, this rural hideaway is ideal for outdoorsy families with a waggy-tailed pal. Playful hounds (and brave humans) can enjoy a refreshing paddle in nearby Lake Windemere, then warm up chilly toes and paws by the roaring open fire.

Nestled at the end of a brick-lined driveway on well-kept grounds, this charming apartment exudes an understated country style with calming muted tones. Towel down your muddy dog, then step through your private entrance into the airy garden room where you can curl up in a chair and gaze across the leafy shared gardens. Pad through to the welcoming lounge area and sink onto the plush sofas with a well-earned drink while your tired-out pup snoozes by the fire. Grab some nibbles and plot out the perfect itinerary at the large dining table, or potter in the homely shaker-style kitchen with a fresh brew. Flop into bed in the comfortable sleeping areas, consisting of a bright double and an inviting twin. There is also a bathroom and a separate shower room for convenience. Soak in the tranquillity of the riverside gardens and watch your tufty-pawed pal snuffling in the shrubbery.

Start the day with a waterside saunter along England’s largest lake where the humans can gear up for a scenic SUP on the still waters while Fido splashes at the shore, 5 miles. Roam the stately grounds of Sizergh Castle then swing by the dog-friendly cafe for coffee and cake, 6 miles.

Pleasantly surprised as the apartment was bigger than expected. Very well equipped & furnished and beautiful communal gardens. Lots of parking outside & great directions to get there. There are no shops nearby so bring provisions. Ideal location to get to the popular towns. If we ever go back to the LD would definitely stay here again. The dogs alsRead moreo loved it. Hide

Overall lovely place, great location and easy/quick drive to stunning Windermere lake. The property is well equipped and we felt very comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms was a real bonus. We've stayed in cleaner places but it was a lovely base for us to explore the lakes. We felt a little bit uncomfortable as the apartment was situated in an exclusive residential complex, maybe the residents didn't want holiday makers coming and going! It appeared as though the place had been cleaned very quickly and not thoroughly.

We did enjoy our stay, its a very peaceful and quiet place with a lovely stream outside. It is 15 minutes drive from anywhere really so you do spend a lot on petrol. We enjoyed where we stayed but needs to be cleaned better. The enclosed shower only worked on 1 day. So you will have to probably use the family bathroom to get washed on the other dayRead mores. Lovely, spacious apartment in a peaceful location. Excellently located for travelling to different places. Our only downside was that we couldnt just step into the garden from the door because we like to just step out and eat. However, that wouldnt deter us from staying again our recommending this property as we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely delightful, clean, immaculate and extremely well catered for all our needs. The little extras, bin bags, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets plus many more bits and pieces were well received. Perfect for our needs.
