This fabulous cottage, just 17 miles from the coast in the beautiful Scottish Borders, sleeps four guests and two hounds. The area is a paradise for dog walkers, with the coast-to-coast Southern Upland Way within easy reach (join it at Longformacus, just 3 miles from the property). Wander around the pretty fishing village of St Abbs (17 miles) and let the pups charge around on the sand at Coldingham Bay.

Enter the cottage via the hall, where you’ll find ample room to store all your walking gear. From here, move into the warm and inviting lounge, with its plump sofa and armchairs, and soft lighting. At the end of a busy day, relax in here in front of the Smart TV, with the woofers stretched out in front of the roaring wood burner. The outside space at this property is fantastic for four-legged guests, as the area is fully enclosed and has a lawn and mature borders for them to sniff and explore. For the humans, there’s a BBQ, summer house and seating area where you can unwind and take in the spectacular countryside views.

St Abbs is full of character and charm, with a rugged and windswept setting and quaint fishermen’s cottages leading down to the harbour. After a potter around the village, follow the Berwickshire Coastal Path for 1 mile to Coldingham Bay, where canine visitors are welcome all year (on leads in summer). The magnificent grounds of Floors Castle (23 miles) are well worth a visit during your stay. Stroll around the colourful formal gardens, wander through the woodlands and grab a bite to eat at the cafe, where you and the pups can sit outside.

A very remote cottage with amazing views. The cottage has all the facilities you need the heating comes on automatically so didnt need the log fire even though the temperature had dropped considerably. Lots of places to visit within a 30 mile radius.

Lovely, quiet location, clean, comfortable, private, great support and communication from owner beforehand. Beautiful views, nice coast and walks. Looks as pictures suggest, probably better in real life, location lovely for family of four with dog who hike. Grocery delivery easy. Lots of coast and geology etc to visit.

A lovely comfortable cottage, well furnished, in a great setting. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs and there were good walks from the door or a short drive away.

It is an older property than I first thought, but very comfortable in all aspects. A fantastic log-burner, which more than adequately heated the room. We found the owners very nice and we had no hassle with anything during our stay. Only slight moan I have is that only one basket of logs were supplied which lasted one night. { A bit penny -pinchingRead more? } Set in beautiful scenery from a high vantage point. It was lovely. The cottage was beautiful, the location was so very nice. The garden was perfect and the dogs loved it. The bed is one of the best I've slept in. The only issue we had was with the dogs slipping on the flooring and falling a few times, the kitchen being down stairs, it would benefit from a stair gate or door, we ended up using the airer to block thRead moree space to stop the dogs falling down the steps (they are 12 and 13) apart from this we will be booking to return next year for 2 weeks. We had a lovely holiday at Rigfoot cottage. The cottage was really well presented and had everything we needed. My youngest daughter said that her bed was the most comfortable bed she had ever slept in. The views from the cottage are gorgeous and the owners were really helpful and easy to contact. We will definitely come again.
