Watch your ecstatic hounds bound across the beautiful, lawned garden at this spacious Cumbrian holiday home. Set near Broughton Beck, approximately 1.5 miles from the southern fringes of the Lake District, the five-bedroom property sleeps nine guests and two delighted dogs and is ideal for a group stay. About 3 miles from Ulverston, it could be perfect for two families or an extended family group and is well positioned for dog-friendly pubs, as well as spectacular walking countryside.

Call the pups into the boot room to dry them down after wet walks, then take them through to the lounge to warm up in front of the open fire while you watch TV or you can entertain them with the upright piano. On warm days open the French doors instead so you can all wander in and out with ease. Find the kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious meals, plus a useful washing machine and dryer for doggy towels. There is also a WC and a character-filled, beamed dining room at ground-floor level. Head up to the first floor to discover a king-size bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, two doubles, a twin and a single. The family bathroom is also here. Savour the outdoor living offered by this spacious property. Throw balls for the pups, take them to explore the garden or simply bask in the sunshine, ensuring the gates are always shut because of nearby livestock. There’s plenty of parking.

Plan day trips into the scenic Lake District. Visit Coniston Water, 6 miles away, where you and your canine friends can follow a 14-mile route around the lake if you choose. Drive 9 miles to Lakeside to experience dramatic Lake Windermere on foot or by boat on a dog-friendly cruise.

Huge enclosed garden and in quiet location. My 3 year old grandson had a whale of a time -looking for rabbits and other wildlife. Very quick drive to pubs & supermarkets around Ulverston. Heritage railway, Lakes Aquarium and Lakes ferries all very close, And to cap it all this property is 400 years old and always inhabited.

Overall the cottage is well equipped and in a nice location, and beds were comfortable. The lounge has an open fire which was lovely in the evenings and there were nice touches like plenty of dishwasher tablets and basics which many places don't give. It is very old (built c. 1600) so expect some of the things that come with that, creaky floors, stRead moreeps internally etc. We did find it too cold, which the owners were helpful and quick to respond to increasing the heating and water temperature. Lovely character cottage. Set in a beautiful rural setting. Lovely walks around the cottage. Would recommend Conaston Lake, less tourists, very tranquil setting, great walk up to the mines. Beds at the cottage were very comfortable, lots of seating, great open fire, loved sitting round the fire pit, plenty of equipment for cooking for 9 people.
