Pick up the dog and bone and take a trip to Ludlow. This beautiful Shropshire town has plenty of fascinating places to explore and makes a great base for a small family or a group of friends and their canine companion.

Upon your arrival, enter to find a lounge with a wood burner. Grab a cup of tea, start the fire and let the holiday begin with a cosy, comforting feeling. Next door is a kitchen/diner with a classic wooden table for communal meals. The kitchen is well-equipped and a nice place to rustle up a delicious meal. Head upstairs to find two bedrooms and a family shower room. There’s a double and a single, both nicely decorated and perfect for a good night’s sleep. The entire cottage is relaxing and feels like a lovely sanctuary. If the weather is fine, visit the front garden and its sunny patio with a dining table and a BBQ.

Ludlow has lots of interesting places to visit. The market is 1.5 miles away and you’ll find plenty of local foods and independent crafts. It’s overshadowed by the castle, which is dog friendly and has an interesting history. Pick a morning to wander around both and really soak up the community feeling. On the other side of the castle is the river, and when you cross this, you’ll be in the Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve (just over 1.5 miles from the cottage). This is a great place to walk dogs and admire the view. Finally, take a trip to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Ironbridge, 26 miles away, credited as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, which is still home to the eponymous iron bridge.

Had a great 5 day trip in Ludlow. Nice 10 minute walk to the beautiful town. Shops and a couple of pubs within 5 mins walk. The cottage was beautiful, charming and cozy. Fire place a bonus, everything we needed was there and we would return another time.

Really comfortable little cottage. And guess what the varied set of kitchen knives were all properly sharp. I pack a knife sharpener because they're so often blunt, but I had no need of it at all.

Cottage in lovely quiet location, easy access to town and bus and train station. We only used car once throughout the week. Cottage clean and would have given 5 stars but bathroom needs updating, door wouldn't close.

Really lovely cottage. Well equipped. Nice walk into the town centre with lots to do nearby. We enjoyed the sunny and relaxing garden spaces after being out all day sightseeing.

Lovely little cottage in walking distance from the town. The cottage is only small but well equipped and perfect for two. We didnt have any problems finding parking on Dodmore Lane. Very friendly local people, and plenty of restaurant options in Ludlow. We didnt get to try the Chinese takeaway at the end of the road but did try the Thai takeaway onRead more Gravel Hill, and the food was great. Hide

Perfect in every way. Comfortable, well equipped and the location is excellent. Quiet and peaceful but only a 10 minute walk into Ludlow. No problem parking. The garden was great with the dog but a real bonus was the large area of grass in front of the nearby church where you are able to exercise your dog.

The cottage is cute and cosy, clean, quite well equipped and a nice location. There's a shop, take away and cafe just around the corner and the town is only 15 min walk away. Managed to find parking not too far away on nearby roads. A great base to explore Ludlow (we enjoyed the Ludlow food festival) and the surrounding area.

A pretty cottage in a residential suburb (nice neighbourhood), 20 mins easy and pleasant walk into the historic centre of Ludlow. Parking in side streets was no problem at all. Small grocery store a few steps away for all basic short-stay needs. Well equipped and charming cottage. We had a very comfortable stay, great recliner sofas, great tv, greaRead moret mattresses, lovely kitchen. Great location for cycling out of town and into the countryside in all directions. Hide

Small but good cottage in Ludlow. A 20 min walk to the centre of Ludlow, but near to large Sainsbury's and a short drive to Ludlow Farm shop. Very comfortable chair and sofa in living room. Kitchen has table to eat round. Garden best for sitting out with morning coffee.
