Springbank is a lovely and substantial Victorian house located 10-15 minutes walk (5 mins drive) from the village of Taynuilt which has a post office, pub, excellent and very friendly local store and a tea room (which we didnt get to visit). Theres also a train station with trains running to Oban (less than half an hour) and Glasgow. The house Read moreperches atop a lovely but mostly sloping garden with beautiful views over the hills/mountains and has parking for 2 cars the gate pillars are quite narrow if you have a larger vehicle. The birds were a real highlight for us when we there. Springbank was closer to the A85 than we had realised and has the B845 running past it, so theres more traffic noise than I had hoped for, but its a lovely location and very convenient. Internally theres plenty of space for 8 people and we spent a lot of time when it was raining playing games in the dining room. The kitchen isnt big but is probably the best equipped weve ever had in a holiday rental: the fact that there were big pans and casserole dishes made catering so much easier than it often is. The only quirk we struggled with was the fact that there are 2 sitting rooms, each seating 4-5 people. We were only 5 people so it was OK, but with a larger group this might be tricky. Apart from that though, the house is light and airy and feels like a real home, but nicer! Hide

A really comfortable place to stay, enhanced by the pictures in every room, and the information about the artists. The cottage sleeps 8 and we were delighted to find the hot water supply was sufficient to cope with showers or baths for all after a strenuous day's walking.
