A warm welcome awaits you and your dog at this picturesque cottage in Bouth. Providing a gateway to some of the country’s most rewarding hikes and incredible scenery, your furry friend will be in doggy heaven discovering the wealth of new sights and scents. Throw sticks and trace paths in nearby Fell Foot Park before heading back home to collapse into a contented stupor and watch as night throws its cloak over the views outside.

Sleeping four people over two bedrooms, this rural retreat enjoys cosy interiors inflected with rustic charm. Unzip and unclip in the hall before padding over the floor to the open-plan living areas. For days and nights at home, the lounge with exposed beams is a cosy cocoon furnished with plump seating, a wood burner-effect electric fire and a Smart TV. Take the weight off your legs and flick through the channels as your canine chum dreams of tomorrow’s adventures. When your tums begin to rumble, the light and airy kitchen houses all you could need, and there is a dining area too. For extra convenience, there are storage and laundry facilities in the garage (with internal access) – great for post-walk clean-ups. When night time calls, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room next to the lounge, whilst on the lower floor, there is another double bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. For little ones, a small dressing room can house a cot.

Lap up the sunshine in the terraced garden or head further and delve beneath the surface of the gorgeous Cartmel Peninsula. To make a splash, drive the 6 miles to Coniston Water or the 4 miles to England’s largest natural lake, Windermere. For a local bite to eat, the dog-friendly village pub is only 300 metres away.

Delightful cottage that's well equipped and in a lovely location. If you have a large SUV then parking is tight.

We enjoyed our stay, the cottage has been converted well, making good use of the space. Its a good location if you want to explore the southern coastal edge of the Lake District (nature reserves etc) and dip into the Coniston area. The parking is tight - we just got into the bay with our Golf but an SUV or EV would struggle.

Ash cottage made you feel at home as soon as you entered. The decor was fantastic and made it feel fresh but cosy. You had a wonderful view out to the tiered garden from the back. To the front you looked out onto the fields and woods beyond. The beds were very comfortable and it was warm and you had the ability to alter the temperature if wished. Loved our stay, located in a nice quiet village 100 yes from the pub. No shop so take that into account, and if you enjoy walking then singed walks in and around the village. Not too much trouble to visit other locations.

Fantastic stay in a lovely cottage. The nearby pub (The White Hart) is very friendly with a great atmosphere and great food. Perfect for dog walking in the surrounding lanes and woods. The mezzanine floor in the cottage was out of bounds - this didn't affect our stay, but it's worth considering if you think you might need more space.
