This single-storey holiday home is in the peaceful village of Eaglesfield, on the north-western edge of the Lake District National Park. Situated just 3 miles from Cockermouth, it’s the perfect base for families, friends, and canine chums to explore the beautiful northern lakes, with Buttermere, Bassenthwaite, and Derwentwater all within 20 miles of the cottage. After a day of adventure, enjoy an al fresco supper in the large garden, admiring the far-reaching views across rolling countryside.

The stylish bungalow has a sleek, monochrome colour scheme and large picture windows overlooking open fields. Leave coats and dog leads in the hallway, before moving through to the inviting lounge. Here, you’ll find a collection of comfortable seating arranged around a Smart TV and a cosy wood burner for warming toes and paws after a long walk. This room opens onto a light and airy conservatory overlooking the garden – the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. This is also a lovely, peaceful spot to set up the dog beds. Cook up a storm in the spacious kitchen/diner whilst enjoying the countryside views, before gathering around the elegant dining table for a feast to remember. The property has three tastefully decorated bedrooms and a contemporary shower room. A handy utility room completes the bungalow. Outside, the enclosed garden has a large lawn where the hounds can race around, along with a sunny patio area for al fresco entertaining. Please note, there is a pond in the garden and children and dogs must be supervised at all times. Private parking is available for two cars, with further, unrestricted parking within the village.

The Georgian market town of Cockermouth is teeming with independent shops to sniff and explore, and also has a fantastic array of pet-welcoming eateries. There’s also a delightful circular walk you and the hounds can enjoy from Wordsworth House, following part of the Allerdale Ramble long-distance route. If you and the pups fancy a challenge, why not bag yourself a Wainwright during your stay? Nearby qualifying fells include Sale Fell and Ling Fell, both within 10 miles. Alternatively, spend the day at the coast exploring the fascinating harbour town of Maryport (10 miles).
