The Elliotts is a beautifully restored building made into a gorgeous, cosy cottage. We really enjoyed this home away from home - so handy to everything we needed but absolutely secluded. Everything was modern and the cottage was thoughtfully equipped. We especially loved the ease of a wonderful, large walk-in shower.

Our stay exceeded expectations. From the pre arrival text and helpful info from David, friendly greeting off our host Sue, the facilities in the cottage, the peaceful green surroundings and the fab hot tub, our stay was excellent. The hosts have thought of so many little touches to make your stay comfortable: robes and big towels for the hot tub, Read moreprivacy screening round the tub, lovely fresh bread, milk, eggs and fizz to start us off! Modern but comfy, we settled in right away. Loved seeing the friendly, nosy cows in the surrounding fields - especially when they came to visit whilst we were in the hot tub! We didn't use the log burner as it wasn't cold enough, but a small supply of logs are provided should you wish to and you can buy more from the hosts. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Rivington Brewery and about a 30 minutes walk into the charming village of Adlington (nice peaceful walk, but do wear walking shoes/boots as can be muddy/stoney), where there is a Co-Op and Tesco Express. We didn't eat out and we brought food with us and the kitchen was well supplied (modern electric fan oven, gas hob, microwave). There is a TV in the lounge (lots of cushions and a big comfy blanket) and a smaller TV in the bedroom which has Now TV installed. Comfy bed, although not the king size we are used to, we slept well. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked to go back! We intend to take walking boots and explore the local area next time as it is so beautiful. There is a very informative guest book on the coffee table (loved Piggy's Itinery!) with lots of tips, directions and photos. Thank you to the Lally family for your hospitality. See you next time.
