Set in the picturesque seaside village of Baycliff, this sweet and traditional holiday cottage makes a lovely getaway for five guests, with ample space for a four-legged friend. Just half a mile from the beach, this character-filled cottage has plenty of original features including a welcoming wood burner in an impressive fireplace, wooden ceiling beams, a secret courtyard garden, stone flooring and a freestanding roll-top bath. Offering views towards Morecambe Bay, the cottage is ideal for families and couples exploring the Furness Peninsula and the southern reaches of the Lake District.

Decorated throughout in light tones and with a nautical theme, this traditional cottage features a pretty lounge with a wood burner, wooden beams and exposed stone, as well as comfortable seating and a TV, providing an ideal space for everyone to unwind. Glass-panelled doors lead through to a light-filled sunroom with a window seat and a dining table. The property also has a fully equipped cottage-style kitchen. From the lounge, a winding staircase leads up to a split-level landing with a family shower room and three cosy bedrooms: a single room with pretty views, and two doubles, one with a freestanding claw-foot bath and an alcove concealing a vanity unit and washbasin. Outside, the courtyard "yarden" is hidden behind a stone archway and has outdoor furniture providing a space for a morning coffee.

Baycliff is a traditional fishing village with some great places to eat and drink. There are some lovely dog-friendly beaches along this stretch of the coastline including those at Aldingham, Bardsea and Newbiggin (all within 2.5 miles). The cottage is close to the thriving town of Ulverston (5 miles) which is home to the dog-friendly Laurel and Hardy Museum. Lovely peaceful location right opposite a friendly pub (no music during our visits). The cottage was clean and well equipped. The double beds were comfortable, as were the sofas. Plenty of dvds, books and board games available. We really enjoyed our short break at Chimney Cottage.

Beautiful, quirky cottage. We had a lovely stay. Ideal location. Steps from a pub which served delicious food and wine. Fully equipped cottage and very clean on arrival. Would recommend.
