Property code: OC-45713

Surrounded by endless countryside, this unique cottage enjoys a truly breath-taking setting. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and adventurous pups, two guests and one lucky dog are welcome. Whether you are luxuriating in front of the fire, saying hello to the resident red squirrels, tracing paths through rolling fields or stargazing in Galloway Dark Sky Park (18 miles), you will be completely enraptured by this spellbinding place.

Set alone amongst epic scenery, this charming 18th-century cottage is the ultimate retreat. Single-storey, the living and sleeping areas are found all on one floor and infuse traditional themes with contemporary inflections. To start your day, the well-equipped kitchen provides plenty of space. Admire the country views as you pour a cup of steaming tea and feed your pup some tasty biscuits. When you are ready to start your breaky, sit down at the kitchen’s dining table and chairs and dig in. In winter months, the gorgeous lounge is a real draw. Decorated in rich tones and enjoying a multi-fuel stove at its centre, you can sink into one of the sofas and snuggle up. As daylight begins to fade and the evening darkness steals the views, turn on the TV and find your favourite channel. For bedtimes, the cottage has a comfortable king-size bedroom. There is also a bathroom with shower over bath. In the summer, you will want to spend as much time as possible outside. Making life a little easier with your four-pawed friend, there is an enclosed front and rear garden (complete with seating and a BBQ). Please make sure the gate in the garden is closed at all times to keep your pet safe.

Home to boundless paths to weave, the surrounding Stinchar Valley holds more than its fair share of allure. But, if you would like to explore further afield, the seaside town of Ballantrae (7 miles) is worth a visit, as is Cairnryan (18 miles).
