Perfect for you and your four-legged friends, this cottage is the place for people who love walking. With views of Shutlingsloe Hill from the garden and many walks close at hand, this lovely cottage is set in an undeniably beautiful area which is just waiting to be explored. On the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, one of the UK’s most impressive natural landscapes, it is a haven for walkers which also warmly welcomes up to two dogs. Although located near to the owner’s property, your privacy at the cottage is assured.

 

Recharge your batteries in this traditional cottage which has a tastefully-decorated kitchen/diner equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay for you and your four-pawed friends, while the upstairs lounge area has breathtaking far-reaching views of the glorious surrounding landscape. There is also a bathroom located on the ground floor providing ample space for those muddy boots and for easy cleaning of muddy paws. Outside is a garden with patio seating area for you to relax and unwind in the beautiful surrounds after a day spent trout fishing or traversing the steep, craggy peaks of the National Park.

 

Wincle (1 mile) is the nearest village, home to a friendly inn which welcomes families and dogs. The walker and dog-friendly local pub at Allgreave (2 miles) also offers a warm welcome, while Wincle Brewery (1 mile) is well worth a visit for ‘eccentric English ales’. The Roaches (said to have once been home to wild wallabies) and Ramshaw Rocks (both 7 miles) offer unusual sculpted rock scenery, all adding to the mythology of this spectacular yet tranquil area. Don’t forget to visit the attractive spa town of Buxton (10 miles), the highest market town in England.

This is an outstanding holiday cottage. Spacious, immaculate and really tastefully decorated. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and cottage has a wonderful collection of good books. Location is great too with wonderful views over the countryside.

Cottage was perfect, only 40 mins from Manchester. Lovely scenic views. Lots of walks near by. The hosts are amazing with lots of little extra touches, homely and beautiful. We love this place so much, it's like going from home to home.

We have just spent a week at Clough Brook cottage & we couldn't fault it. Amazing views, location & cottage. Suzanne welcomed us with freshly baked bread & homemade jams, the cottage is perfectly set up & clean. There are walks outside the front door & Buxton, Matlock, Bakewell all within an hours drive. A comfortable, well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Very welcoming owners, with lovely bread, eggs and preserves waiting for us. Its not often that you are able to use the word "perfect" when staying at rented accommodation, but Clough Cottage is the exception. Its a perfectly presented, perfectly equipped and perfectly located cottage. The hosts Suzanne and John also deserve the "perfect" rating for their friendliness and attention to detail making any stay here "perfect".

What a gem of a place, a complete find. So clean, comfortable and cosy. It was very well equipped, everything had been thought of and more including lovely touches to make you feel welcome. A lovely cottage with plenty of room for the three of us and our dog Reggie. Loved sitting out in the garden morning and late afternoon watching the sheep and cows. Very relaxing .The owners chickens were also entertaining. They had there own enclosed area so no need to worry about your dog. Plenty of local interesting walks nearby and from the cotRead moretage.
