Set in a residential part of Cockermouth, this bright, fresh and inviting bungalow makes a wonderful holiday getaway for four guests, with plenty of space for three pet dogs to come along. Ideally situated for exploring the Lake District and the Cumbria coastline, this light-filled property is perfect for families and couples seeking a spacious, relaxing retreat. Taking its name from the Maori word for ‘welcome’, this tastefully furnished and refreshingly decorated property also features a charming garden over two levels.

The main lounge/diner is to the rear of the property occupying a light and airy extension to the original building. With a Smart TV, DVD, Bluetooth speaker and plenty of seating, the lounge is a relaxing space for unwinding. The dining area is perfect for sharing a meal that you can rustle up in the stylishly designed kitchen. The bungalow also has two fresh and cosy bedrooms: a pretty double with a TV, and a cheerful twin, as well as a family bathroom with a double-ended bath and walk-in shower. From the lounge, French doors open onto the landscaped garden. The lower level has a patio with outdoor furniture, providing a charming spot for a morning coffee. Seven steps lead up to the lawn on the upper level, with further seating and a range of bedding plants. You’re welcome to help yourself to some of the raspberries, rhubarb, mint and cherries growing here when in season.

Cockermouth has a choice of pet-welcoming places to eat and drink, with plenty of walks for your dog to enjoy. There are some lovely dog-friendly beaches along the coast, including those at Maryport (8 miles) and Allonby (10.5 miles). The Lake District offers miles of spellbinding walks, with Crummock Water, Loweswater (both 9 miles) and Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles) all within easy reach.

Happy to recommend this property - the owners were super friendly and contacted us on arrival to ensure everything was OK. It is semi-detached but the living room is in the rear extension and we never saw or heard neighbours on either side for the entire stay. It's well equipped with a comprehensive welcome pack and ideally situated being a short wRead morealk to Cockermouth town centre. We used the local Indian and Chinese takeaway restaurants and the food was really good quality. The rear garden is on 2 levels and there's a sun trap in the top corner to enjoy the evenings. The Cottage was beautiful clean and quiet, you had everything you needed, lovely welcoming pack was a lovely surprise, owners where very helpful if you needed them, they where lovely, will go again, garden is a lovely sun trap, didn't want to come hame,

Very nice cottage and garden kitchen and equipment excellent settee okay chairs a bit uncomfortable but everything else was ok and only a 10 min walk to town witch was excellent

fantastic bungalow in a lovely quiet cul de sac. 2nd time we have stayed and found it to be fabulous on both occasions. The owners are very attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be booking again.

The photos dont do the bungalow any justice. Very comfortable the welcome pack of eggs, biscuits coffee and some basic seasoning in the well kept kitchen was a nice touch. As people have mentioned previously the well kept garden and its location means you don't hear the traffic from the town. Lovely stay again, would definitely recommend. Weather wasn't the best but still plenty to do. Walked to Harris Park which is close by which was lovely for our dog and they are also welcome dogs in the shops on the main street. Brilliant location to get to several beauty spots, we will be back

Just what we wanted. A relaxing house with a well kept garden with furniture, visiting birds and colourful flowers. Enjoyed the decor and thoughtful welcome pacj. Easy walk into Cockermouth with disc parking if required. Enjoyed good walks in Harris Park with our dog as well as easy drives to Keswick and the Lakes. Would go again.

Lovely welcome pack, with local eggs a nice touch! Nice message from owners on arrival. Semi detached bungalow with large kitchen, airy lounge and enclosed garden in a quiet neighbourhood. Tea, coffee, cleaning products etc all kindly provided.Well situated for short walk down into Cockermouth town centre. Also convenient for days out in the Lakes.

We had a lovely stay here, Cockermouth is one of our favourite towns. The sun shone in September so we enjoyed the garden. The area was quiet and peaceful, and the house was well equipped and very comfortable.
