Three pups are welcome at this cosy cottage, and a second property is also available to book on-site. With a rural setting, long driveway, country lanes and an enclosed garden, it’s the ideal place for children and pup pals; the region is packed with dog-friendly trails, hilltop ambles, and abundant wildlife to see and detect, from barn owls and buzzards to handsome red squirrels.

Follow the ramp to the property entrance, where you’ll find a contemporary open-plan kitchen, dining, and utility area with enviable countryside views. Traditional country style blends seamlessly with contemporary creature comforts for a relaxing holiday. The spacious living room has a double sofabed, plus a TV with Freeview, and French doors lead out to the enclosed garden - perfect for pup pals who want the best of both worlds. Sleep comes easy with the bright double bedroom, family bathroom, and quiet surroundings. There’s a village shop nearby (4 miles), plus delicious pub food a short drive away (7.5 miles).

At the gateway to Galloway Forest Park, this area is made for waggy-tailed adventures and stargazing dreams. Enjoy Europe’s longest zip wire ride at Laggan Outdoor Adventures (15 miles); stay aboard at Loch Ken Waterski School (5 miles) which also offers canoeing and fishing activities; or try the 7Stanes mountain bike trails challenge (19 miles). Boxer and Lola might prefer to explore the secluded glades and woodland trails in this peaceful area. Foodies will enjoy Castle Douglas (15 miles), Scotland’s Food Town; or visit New Galloway (5.5 miles) for its vibrant arts centre and cultural events.

Lovely cottage. Enclosed garden great for my little dog. Bonus of donkeys to feed (take treats for them please!) Well placed for travelling and walking and visiting but very quiet at night and garden is a sun trap. This is our second visit ther and we would go again in the blink of an eye!!!!

A lovely little cottage set in a beautiful peaceful location. The cottage had everything we needed and the dogs loved the secure garden. The dog field was fabulous especially after the dogs had been on a lead all day. They loved it.

Lovely cottage in a quiet area. Dog walking field a few minutes walk from cottage. Lots of wildlife to spot, we saw kites, hares, deer, highland coos, wonderful donkeys who are really friendly. Highly recommend for dog owners.

Lovely, cosy cottage, quiet location, ideal for couples who enjoy walking with their dogs. Even has an exercise field for if you just want to let them have a run and spend more time relaxing!

We had lovely week at The Nook. It is a lovely cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location was so peaceful and the scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed feeding the donkeys and birds every day. Really good selection of birds. Had some lovely days out we love this part of Scotland. Friendly welcome and lovely extensive welcome pack, a real home from home with everything you would ever need. Beautiful location, ideal for us with two small dogs, as there was a large safe enclosed garden for them to run free. Definitely book again and recommend to all our friends. Thank you.

Fantastic week at The Nook. The location is stunning, so peaceful and lots of nature and wildlife to enjoy. I travelled with my greyhound and the large fully secure garden was perfect, and the secure dog field was a huge bonus. The cottage was equipped with everything you needed and was a lovely place to return to after a day hiking and exploring. Read moreI was very sad to leave but can't wait to return again next year. Rural location very quiet and isolated A must if you want a piece full holiday as I had just retired it was ideal The dogs loved the dog field even if you dont have a dog its a nice little walk then a bench in the field to sit relax and any the views Would recommend

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The shower is brilliant; very strong. Wifi excellent and television great. Washing machine worked fine and drying in the garden. The enclosed garden and dog exercise field much appreciated and well used by our dog. The location is very rural, which was wonderful as so peaceful and quiet.
