Get lost in one of the many novels from the ground floor library, or drop into holiday mode by switching on the sound system. Upstairs, feed four-legged friends with something tasty from the period butler’s pantry, while down the hall, guests can prepare hearty platefuls in the well-appointed kitchen with a large Rangemaster. Serve up at the opulent dining table over laughter, storytelling, and glasses of whisky. When you’re ready for a good night’s sleep, the cottage has five individually decorated bedrooms, all equipped with en suites. Outside, watch the pooches play in the enclosed garden, while the two-legged friends grab a cuppa and enjoy it alfresco.

We had a wonderful stay at Drummond House- beds were super comfy, the house warm, the sunny courtyard garden perfect for relaxing, the weather was wonderful and Birnam is such a great quiet but central place to explore the area from. Our chef son absolutely loved the kitchen with all its professsional standard equipment and we all appreciated the arRead moreray of herbs and spices and basic ingredients for cooking lovely meals without endless trips to the supermarket. Dunkeld butcher has a fab array of fruit and veg to add to the Coop offerings. Highlights were a trip up Birnam hill, swimming in the Tay, lounging on the river bank, playing some of the many games in the boot room, enjoying the vast library (for both adults and kids) and many other wee delights.
