Property code: OC-SZ195

The spacious property, in the heart of the Eskdale Valley, sleeps 16 guests and two excitable hounds. With large, sociable rooms and a dining table to accommodate everyone, it’s the perfect place to enjoy quality time together. There’s also plenty to keep you entertained, with a games barn and a pond where you can launch rafts. Rover and Fido will adore the large, enclosed garden. Nearby paw-friendly attractions include the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway (0.5 miles) and Muncaster Castle (5.5 miles).

The farmhouse is decorated in a country-cottage style, with neutral tones and delicate fabrics. From the hallway you’ll find yourself in the bright and airy kitchen. With wooden floors and lots of space, it’s perfect for dog beds. There’s also a breakfast table where you can enjoy a peaceful cuppa in the morning. For formal meals, gather around the large table in the dining room. The cosy lounge features a roaring wood burner where the dogs can warm their paws whilst you watch the TV/DVD. If all the socialising gets too much for the four-pawed members of the group, they can retire to the peaceful conservatory. There are seven bedrooms to choose from, varying from doubles to twins. The south-facing garden is a haven of tranquillity; relax and watch the sun set over the fells. Just be sure to keep children and dogs under close supervision near the ponds.

The walking opportunities in the area are endless, with the Eskdale Trail, which heads to the coast, passing right past your front door. Alternatively, hop aboard the dog-friendly steam train to chug through the stunning countryside to Ravenglass, the National Park’s only coastal village. Muncaster Castle makes a great doggy day out. Enjoy the historic gardens, before taking a long walk through the 70 acres of wild woodland.

Fisherground - an outstanding property and ideal for family gatherings such as ours. We wanted for nothing - for all our needs were satisfied. Its location was perfect, with the Ratty trains visible puffing along about 300 yards away. Although other properties were near we felt very much alone which was perfect for us. We are very grateful to have found Fisherground. Hide

We enjoyed our stay at Fisherground Farmhouse to celebrate my son's 40th birthday. It was clean and tidy and very well equipped with everything you would need, plenty crockery, cutlery, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board. The only thing missing was a hair dryer. We would certainly visit again. Nearby attractions are Muncaster CastleRead more and Eskdale Steam train. Which unfortunately was not open when we visited. There's a little park next to the cottage and a barn with games in it. Hide

My family really loved the farmhouse and Eskdale. We had a very relaxing week, walking the local fells and riverside paths. The children soon forgot about the non existent telephone service which I thought was a good thing. Advisable to book pub meals in advance for larger parties, but there are plenty of places to eat out at. Local suoermarket shoRead moreps are a distance away but we took it in turns to drive out for supplies. My children / grandchildren said it was the best holiday they had ever had. Hide

There were 14 adults and a baby. we all fitted in and there is a large lounge where we all played games and the dining table was big enough for us all to sit at which you don't always have.
