Travel as a pack – that’s up to eight people and three furry chums – to this show-stopping converted barn in rural Shropshire. It’s a perfect base from which to explore the Shropshire Hills near the English/Welsh border, but with all the added bonuses of this deluxe pad, you’ll struggle to leave; whether the sauna and hot tub are your thing or just sitting around the wood burner or having fun with the hounds in the dog exercise field.

Make magical memories together during your stay in this sleek barn, with its fabulous open-plan living space. Beautifully refurbished, exposed exterior stonework, interior beams and vaulted ceilings pay homage to its original purpose, but the fixtures and furnishings are super modern, with calming neutral decor, all finished to a high spec. Lots of windows let the light flood in, but also give views of the gorgeous green countryside, whatever the weather. Three sophisticated, en-suite double bedrooms are on the lower floor, while one quaint mezzanine twin bedroom overlooks the main body. Outdoors is just as good, with a paved terrace, a hot tub and a sauna in a shepherd’s hut. There’s a separate acre of fenced garden for kids and dogs to let off steam, too.

Reacquaint yourselves with nature at this stunning barn; there’s stacks of gorgeous walking and cycling trails through this green and pleasant landscape. The Shropshire Hills National Landscape is easily accessible for walking, affording wonderful views. Or the local market town of Knighton is 9.5 miles away and marks the midway point of the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke Path national trail. For culture and history, Powis Castle and Gardens (21.5 miles) is a NT property – a Grade II-listed medieval castle and gardens with fascinating artefacts. Dogs are allowed in some areas and the grounds.
