Let Rover and Fido wander directly into the house from here, accessing the living space which is kept cosy thanks to a traditional wood burner. Choose to position your dog’s favourite bed here or in the kitchen/diner – both are warm and snuggly on an evening with room for pets to snooze. Human members of the pack can drag dog-tired bodies upstairs, finding two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.

Visit Dartington Deer Park on the Dartington Hall estate, exploring long or short nature trails with man’s best friend safely on their lead. Running through here is the River Dart (3.5 miles), another magnificent beauty spot for never-ending walkies. You can follow the river route down into Totnes (4 miles), a town with a historic castle and a selection of pet-friendly pubs and places for refreshments.
