This relaxing retreat on a working farm on the Devon/Cornwall border sleeps three people over two bedrooms and welcomes two canine companions. Light and airy throughout - and overflowing with country charm - this detached holiday barn is the perfect accommodation option if you want to escape the city and enjoy some quality time with your nearest and dearest. It’s ideal for romantic couples and small groups of friends who want to immerse themselves in the beauty of the South West with their pups in tow.

This pretty barn conversion is cleverly laid out on one level, but the two major living spaces are separated by a couple of steos. Step inside and you’ll find a fabulously bright and breezy open-plan living space. You’ll feel right at home cooking up a feast in the country-style kitchen, which you can then enjoy with your loved ones in the quaint dining area. Alternatively, make your way out through the French doors, strike up the BBQ and dine alfresco in the decked garden area while your pups run free in the enclosed space. After dinner, curl up on the sofa and watch a movie in the living area as your pups snooze happily in front of the wood burner-effect gas fire. In the morning, kick off your day with a freshly-brewed coffee in the decked garden.

Your four-legged friends will love going for a walk at Tamar Lakes Country Park (13.5 miles). There’s also a lovely dog-friendly cafe overlooking Upper Tamar Lake. Pups are also welcome year-round at most of Bude’s beaches (12 miles) and a little further afield at the wonderfully secluded Trebarwith Strands Beach (28.5 miles) which disappears at high tide. The pretty villages of Boscastle (23 miles) and Tintagel (27.5 miles) also make for a lovely day trip.

The Byeways was really comfy and clean we had a very relaxing holiday there. Welcome goodies we're very thoughtful. You do need a car to get around it being a rural location. We like to do a lot of cooking and found there was not enough work top area for us also we found the enclosed garden was not big enough for our dogs to run about.

Lovely little cottage, had what was needed. Homely Touch of home makes cakes, milk and juice. Dog friendly lovely and quiet. Highly recommend, great location, everything well kept.

Excellent property. Lots of natural light and windows can open fully or at an angle so really enjoyed the flow of air. The underfloor heating made it nice and snugly as nights drew in. A well maintained comfortable property with a lovely homely feel and a great enclosed safe space for our dogs. The road alongside the property is not busy but the local traffic races along very fast, we did not feel safe to walk along here. You will need a car to access any local amenities.

So far away from amenities, shop for food or eating out , very cold bedroom, so isolated you real need to make sure you take food and drink with you , at least for when you arrive

Well layed out Barn, everything you need is there. Enjoyed a few hours sitting on deck in sunshine. Dogs enjoyerd their break,handy enclosed paved area. Local traffic flies along the Lane,way too fast so be careful when out walking. Well worth the cost charged.

Comfortable and well equipped cottage. Dog friendly and safe for our Jack Russell who can be an escapologist. A quiet rural spot, and we particularly enjoyed the local pub which has a charm of its own and great food.
