Property code: OC-06200

Swap the hustle and bustle for stick chasing and scenic walks across the rugged wilderness of beautiful Dartmoor, a spectacular location for human and hound alike. Your holiday accommodation is perfect for groups of four guests and one beloved hound, set on the edge of the national park just 2 miles from Okehampton. Explore until your four-pawed pal grows weary, returning to the comfort of your exclusive lodge for fireside snoozes and long soaks in your private hot tub.

Overlooking a copse of trees close to a restaurant and play area, this charming lodge is family-friendly and delightfully cosy. Climb the steps and head inside ready to rustle up something tasty in the kitchen under the watchful eyes of Fido, settling down at the table to enjoy your meal. Wake up to fresh coffee and birdsong as you relax on the sofas, toasting your toes by the flame-effect fire. Both bedrooms are a delight with comfortable beds and storage space, and the double bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Completing the property is a bathroom and a handy utility room, and the outside decked area has a hot tub for an extra treat.

A plethora of trails leads from your doorstep across the craggy tors and sweeping moorland, where you’ll discover pockets of woodland and crystal-clear streams for your waggy-tailed friend to splash in. Change pace with a trip into Okehampton to visit the pretty shops and eateries, and take a step back in time as you explore the ruins of the medieval castle. Further afield, Lydford Gorge, 7.5 miles away, is a majestic sight after a pad through the woodland, spotting wildflowers and wildlife. Round off the adventures with a hearty lunch in Tavistock, a market town brimming with history and places to eat, 14 miles away.

Tor lodge was excellent. The hot tub was quite private was kept clean all week. The beds were comfy and the shower was nice and powerful. The kitchen had everything you'd ever need. We had a perfect week.

Great break with the lodge comfortable and warm. Our dog settled well but this is our third visit in about a year so a home from home! The owners, Del, Trish & Chris, are exceptionally considerate people, very accommodating and go out of their way to ensure the break is pleasant and all is ok. Thank you for another great stay.

We all had a fantastic time away, we are all carers and we don't get to spend much time together out of work. Everything was perfect and would definitely stay there again.

A very well equipped chalet with a good location. My only quibble was that the hot tub outside the house was not not particularly secluded.

Having stayed in Tor Lodge we found a distinct lack of privacy as it faced directly on to the access road to the other lodges. The site map on the website is rather misleading as to the lodge's position. Due to it's position under several trees there was a lack of direct sunlight which left the lodge a bit gloomy and lacking warmth without heating.
