Offering cosy accommodation for couples and solo travellers exploring the picturesque byways of Mid Devon, this picturesque traditional cottage is a fantastic hideaway within easy reach of the Blackdown Hills. Providing fresh, bright and relaxing accommodation for up to two guests, the property also has plenty of space for a four-pawed pal to join you as you explore the area’s breathtaking countryside and quaint villages. Featuring timber beams, stone tiling and exposed brickwork, this tastefully decorated, stylishly furnished property has been sympathetically updated to make a fabulous holiday home in a tranquil part of the county.

Stepping into this delightful cottage, the beautiful beamed open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a full of character and a lovely space for you and your pet to unwind in. The lounge has comfortable seating and a Smart TV, while the dining area in the corner is perfect for enjoying a romantic meal which you can prepare in the fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, the characterful bedroom features a handcrafted double bed, a Smart TV, an en-suite shower room, polished wooden floors, stone walls and wooden ceiling beams. Stepping outside, the side courtyard has a table and chairs, providing a lovely relaxing spot for dining alfresco on a sunny summer’s day. Steep steps lead up to a large garden shared with the owner’s house; this makes a great space for walking your dog – though please keep them on a lead. A hose and towels are also provided for washing muddy paws.

The cottage is ideally situated for dogs and their owners keen to explore Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: the Blackdown Hills and Hembury Fort (1 mile )  offering unforgettable walks with breathtaking scenery. There are some lovely market towns and villages nearby including  Honiton, Tiverton and Ottery St Mary, Topsham, Lympstone and Budleigh Salterton, all within 9 miles. The Jurassic Coastline offers stunning clifftop walks from dog friendly Branscombe to Beer beaches, whilst Exmouth beach is dog friendly  all year round too.

What a wonderful place to stay! The location is ideal for a peaceful holiday break. The Stone Barn is beautifully appointed, with everything you can think of being provided. The bed is extremely comfortable, the rain shower in the en-suite bathroom is an added bonus. The garden is lovely, and we enjoyed visiting the chickens as well. We have just got back from ' the barn' in Dulford. FEBRUARY 2026 The accommodation was lovely, and the hosts ( Maria and Steve) thought of everything and more to make sure our stay was very enjoyable, and they were close at hand if we required anything. Absolutely beautiful cottage with everything we could want for a comfortable stay - plus lots of extras, like towelling bath robes supplied, orange juice, milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge, enough tea and coffee provided to last for more than a week or two...... It was very clean and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful place in a rural location. Very clean and comfortable with lots of little extras which were really appreciated. The barn is located directly behind the hosts house in case you need anything. Met Steve briefly who was very nice checking to see all was okay, which it was. The bed was huge and comfy. The cottage is set on 2 levels, the bedroom and bathroom on the 1st floor and the entrance leads into the living space which is with a modern kitchen. The kitchen is superior to many other kitchens in rentals we have been. It appears that most, if not everything, has been thought of - down to clingfilm to take a packed lunch. Lovely cottage for two with everything you need. Nice extras like fresh eggs and bottle of wine etc. Idea base for traveling around the area and dog friendly. Helpful friendly owner who are there if you need them. Spotless, cosy and an extreamy comfortable big bed. Would highly recommended.

The stone barn is fantastic with all the comforts of home. Ideal location for exploring and lots of lovely pubs that serve excellent food close by. The owners have added lots of extras. Lovely cosy cottage with a big garden for early morning stroll with the dog. Everything supplied that you could possibly need for your stay including treats for the dog and you! The owners checked in with me to ensure everything was okay but I didnt feel overlooked. All in all a great experience.
