This romantic bolthole boasts an idyllic setting on the Hartland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Escape to the coast with your favourite four-legged friends; from clifftop paths to hidden coves, you’ll find plenty to get tails wagging along the Hartland Heritage Coast. After a day outdoors, return to your cosy cottage to snuggle in front of the wood burner, whilst the hounds relax in the enclosed garden. You’ll also have a great selection of beaches within 15 miles, including Westward Ho! and Bude.

The beautiful stone barn is situated amongst a handful of similar properties with its own private driveway. The cottage has bags of character, with original exposed beams and limestone flooring. The open-plan lounge/diner is the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day, with its roaring wood burner for the hounds to doze in front of and a Smart TV/DVD for you to watch your favourite programmes. The stylish kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a dinner for two. It’s also a great place for the dog beds, thanks to the cosy underfloor heating. Outside, discover a cute, enclosed garden, where the pups can play and you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio.

Hartland Abbey and Gardens (3 miles) is a great place for a day out with the doggies. Although not permitted inside the house, four-legged guests are welcome to explore the beautiful walled and woodland gardens, as well as the sweeping parkland that envelops the property. There’s a charming courtyard cafe for refreshments and you can also take a stroll through the valley to the wild and rugged Atlantic coast. The only complaint was that the cottage is quite remote and the narrow lanes leading to it are mostly farm tracks that are in a very poor condition . They are littered with pot holes which are impossible to avoid. A two and a half mile journey from the nearest main road to the cottage is very challenging.

This is a lovely cottage, situated in a quiet location. We were able to completely relax knowing our dog couldnt get out of the garden. It is well positioned to explore the coast of North Devon and Cornwall. The local roads were part of the charm and adventure too! Host John was very welcoming and helpful.

A delightful little cottage. Well equipped with everything you should need. For once it was fabulous to have a fully enclosed garden which was JACK RUSSELL TERRIER proof. This cottage is perfectly situated for walking and visiting the beautiful beaches and villages.
